Hearing Garrett Losch at Morning Worship talking about how true Christians shouldn't watch American Football because of the violence. And then hearing all of the Bethelites talk about it. Nobody stopped watching it or playing it. Guess they're all going to die. After all, it was direction from a Governing Body member.

i just got back from spending 1.5 months working in amsterdam, and let me tell you, although it is nice being back here in california, i really had a nice time. if i had an opportunity to move somewhere else, holland would definitely be a first consideration. i also went to london this past weekend - UK kicks ASS. The nice thing about being over there is that with relatively little money you can travel to different countries, and there's so many beautiful people and places to see.
America is nice, but I'd never say it's the best place to live.

It seems to me that Americans are super-patriotic. No dissent is allowed. Shut up celebrities if you don't agree. If people don't agree with President Bush, they're stupid or worse, anti-American.I read that there isn't even a concept for that in Italy. If you disagree with the government policies, no one would accuse you of being anti-Italian--it would be ridiculous. But in America, the public often punishes dissenters, such as the Dixie Chicks.
What do we have--a king that no one can question?? No, we have a democracy--but i think so many just don't understand the concept. Yeru and Francois are rabid in attacking liberals. It's just too darn bad that there is such intolerance on this board by some and in America in general.

Pat, you hit the nail on the head. I just watched an interview on CNN with Britney Spears, and she said that she thinks people should support and trust the President. I wonder if that's *really* how she feels or if she's just saying that to protect her career. I could care less really where actors or musicians stand politically. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and it would be nice if they were able to state that without being dragged through the mud by those who don't agree with them.

funny, how the jews were'nt supposed to have other gods or graven images, but there it is, right there in exedous , i believe, the israelites were wandering around in the desert & started to get bit by snakes.
I'm currently reading a book entitled "When God Was a Woman." I find this whole topic of a female Diety quite intriguing. It's interesting how for thousands of years both religions existed simultaneously - worship of the female and male diety. Then in century long struggles, the male diety religions fought viciously to eradicate the female worshipping religions. And from these new male diety worshipping religions came the story of Adam & Eve.
To me that is really something to think about. What was really going on there? Was God saying, "Listen, I'm tired of people thinking I'm a female. It's time they learn I'm a male." He therefore supports the genocide of all female diety worshippers. That's the whole problem I have with "God." If He/She is so powerful, why not simply just appear to everyone and say, "Look, I'm to be referred to as "She" once and for all." End of issue. But no, He/She has to go and have thousands of people killed. Doesn't make any sense to me. At any rate, it's really interesting reading about our male dominant society these days...as I read more of this book I'll post more bits of info...

Hey inky, i was just at reggae on the river the other weekend (man what a BLAST). My girlfriend is from neighboring trinity country, weaverville to be exact. her grandparents live in Eureka...love it up there. Truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.

I think the reason Simon is singling out the USA from that list is because USA started the war in Iraq, not any of the other countries.
patriotism blinds people to facts, unfortunately. So sad.

be serious this is to win the minds of american voters not to polerize them against you.
otherwise it's a plug for him.. i think that the one real weakness is unemployment in america.
