  i am extremely skeptical about this, yet people on this forum seem to talk about it as though it were a fact.

  so has anyone got any actual concrete proof?

  i am extremely skeptical about this, yet people on this forum seem to talk about it as though it were a fact.

  so has anyone got any actual concrete proof?

  here are the reasons why i don't think they do:.

  Why would they want to monitor this site? Why wouldn't they want to monitor it, in the first place.
  
  One example: the WTS was affected by the UN scandal and not just in the English speaking countries. The effects started reaching Eastern European countries such as Poland only a year ago or so.
  
  Now, check the topic history of the very first threads on the UN scandal on this board. You'll see a great deal of "intelligence" posted here. Even the Guardian journalist - Stephen Bates posted here a few times. Do you think the WTS is interested in this kind of information?

  the pope was admitted to hospital and on the national tv (rai) they were saying that he has an entire apartment right in the h just for himself, not only that but the room just below was emptied just to avoid noise for him.

  unbelivable!

  recently a man in italy died because the ambulance could not find a bed for him in a hospital so by the time they arrived to the one bed that was available 200kms away he was dead.

  You implied the pope should admit he was "a prick". I thought it was a sweeping generalisation and pretty personal at that. So I first refrained from commenting on the character of his duties:

  Since I'm not a catholic, I don't feel obliged to have an opinion on the pope's achievements as a pope.

  And then I implied he has a worthy biography as a man which prevents me from calling him names just because the catholic hierarchy is in many respects such a hopeless misrepresentation of charitable christianity.

  An analogy (hopefully not a strawman):

  It's pretty much the same with socialist politicians. They fare much more than 99% of the people whose interests they claim to represent. But would you call each socialist leader "a prick" just because all social systems are inherenty injust (yeah - apart from such systems as utopian communism)? Are all far left-wing politicians pricks because they don't redistribute their personal surplus wealth to the poorer part of society? If not then what exactly makes a politician a prick?

  Now translating it into the pope's case, I listed a few positives (relating to him as a worthy man - but not in the sense Mussolini considered a good man) to show your description made an exaggerated impression.

  ---

  Now, one other question to try to get a slichtly more positive view from you: what do you expect a pope to do/say to live up to your expectations without being considered a prick?

  LOL. I said "negate the negatives" (by listing the positives) which is exactly what you said. I did not say "list the negatives".

  Note that you are still making that mistake as the quality you listed and being "a cynical politician" are not mutualy exclusive. I don't have a site to point you to but I can tell you that knowing the name of a logical fallacy comes after being able to de-compose the argument.

  If you read my post again, you'll see that I explicitly said I have nothing to say about pope's policies. All I said was that I think he is/was a remarkable man (and not a cynical politician). The efficiency of the Catholic hierarchical system and their policies are another story. I have no emotional investment in defending them. Now where did I negate the negatives in my original post?   I would like to point out to you too (as you didn't read the posts of course) that I used the words "Not Intelligent Either" with somebody that call me and others "Fools", I don't usualy do it but in that case I thought it was fair enough. So I would be more cautios as how you use that word as it's very easy (as you have seen) to misplace it

  The word "intelligent" (argument) was a sort of an ad hominem qualifier indeed. Sorry if you got it that way - I was in a hurry writing this post.

  how can those doing the monitoring not be affected by what they read here?.

  how can anyone not be affected by the paedophilia scandal, the un scandal, the 1975 debacle?.

  how do they find someone to read here and still stay a jw?.

  If they're from the legal/financial department, they get affected and they turn more and more cynical. Finally, as a way of taking revenge on the GB liers and the entire Borg, they redirect a few milion bucks from the donations for the worldwide preaching work to a private account in a Cayman bank.
