Proof WBTS is downgrading 1914
by yesidid inmaybe they're keeping the doctrine but they are not writing about it as much in the watchtower.. below are statistics from their 07 cd showing how many times 1914 was mentioned in the watchtower for each year 1950 to 2006 .
i have divided the years 1950 2006 into segments of eight excepting for the last, which is nine.. on the side i have the average for those years.
notice they have gone from 88.87 a year to 24.44. .

Much of Bach's music. Sibelius is great - especially Kullervo and the symphonies. Some of Mahler's and Wagner's music is just great. Used to listen to classical and jazz music a lot when I was a dubbie. That's because most of the remaining good worldly music was too evil. Then I switched to the all-encompassing variety. Now I enjoy anything from gore death metal to St Mathew's Passion. cheers to that. Pole

That's What I'M Talkin' About!
by Farkel incall me a curmudgeon.
there are just some expressions in today's vernacular that are just idiotic, and "that's what i'm talkin' about" is one of these.
it is so ghetto.. several people are saying 'blah, blah, blah, de blah and more de blah..." suddenly, a dimwit in the group hears something that dimwit didn't even mention but happens to like the subject and then dimwit blurts out, "now that is what i'm talkin' about!".

A non-native speaker's perspective:
The most irritating cliches in
American English:
The annoying use of 'like' to premodify everything. It's a slot-filler for the linguistically challenged. Example (imagine a dim-witted blonde speaking): "I was LIKE waiting for the bus. And the bus wasn't LIKE coming. So I was LIKE upset about it."
British English:
The (over-)use of the adjective 'ridiculous'. When I hear the expression: "This is just ridiculous" uttered in the Southern British accent, I want to puke instantly. It's ridiculous.

Doctor Angelicus's back again?
I thought this sort of "logical" metaphysics was forsaken long time ago by Kant on the grounds of having nothing to do with pure_TM science.
Surprise, surprise he was right in predicting no progress in metaphysics and lots of progress in science. Scientifically we are in the 21st century. Metaphysically, some of us are back in the 1200s when Thomas Aquinas proposed his five ways by which God's existence can be demonstrated 'logically'.
We've seen it all been before, folks. Metaphysics sucks big time ;-).

:Who is Jesus? Is he God?
Clearly and beyond all doubt, he is an inferior hypostasis of the Father.
Sorry, but I'm redaing Origen now preparing for yet another philosophy exam in my never-ending academic adventure and I couldn't help contributing to a discussion I have no interest in, just to indicate discussing this topic is a bit of dead-horse-flogging from my blatantly godless perspective.
Enjoy it though.

What a shame. The Polish complex showing its ugly face again. For the 1000 years of the existence of the Polish nation and state (200+ of which was underground) we have conclusively proven we can only fight when we have nothing to lose. I'm glad I won't be watching the Germany-Poland game.
Maybe just to seek some consolation in those fabulous German strikers: Podolski, Miroslav Klose and Borowski. What genuine Germans. LOL.
Excuse me my ramblings. I'm slightly drunk and too tired not to be emotional.

WHAT DOES THE WORD...."SOON"....MEAN???
by Terry inthe watchtower magazine has used the word "soon" on many an occasion to point out to its readership how near armageddon really is.. a word that can mean anything, in effect, actually means nothing.
consequently, let's examine what "soon" actually means by definition and use.. there can only be three stages of time:.
wouldn't you agree with that?

:If he didn't know the day or hour...he shouldn't have said "I come quickly"...and he shouldn't have told his diciples that "HE WOULD COME at a time they wouldn't expect it....so be ready"
Maybe Jesus was fooled by Jehovah's promises too? So like the WTS, he honestly meant 'soon' when he said 'quickly', but he didn't realize Jehovah was such a hopeless procrastinator.
