Kickin' it with Moses
by Low-Key Lysmith inhave any of y'all ever participated in the whole "i can't wait for the new the new order so i can meet and hang out with the bible all-stars" thing.
my old man always wanted to meet the apostles who were fishermen 'cause he likes to fish.
i used to picture myself when i was a little kid holding hands with job and moses skipping through the gumdrop forest and petting an alaskan brown bear completly unafraid of bodily harm whilst the 1800 lb bruin grazes peacefully in the pasture.

omg, that's one of the great paradise-talk stuff. everybody thinks he'd be sitting there with daniel asking questions of "how it was and how he felt facing this and that".
say 6 million JWs survive and millions of corpses rise from their graves. how the heck would daniel stand there in his fashionable judean dress and talk to some shaved white tie-wearer about old neb, while the kids are playing "noah's ark".
i can tell you what daniel would do: he'd get himself a bunch of nephilim bodyguards, wear dark sunglasses and punch the paparazzi. and the watchtower's digest would cover scandals bout him breaking up with sexy sulamitha after she saw him kissing bathseba. -

Did You Get "Butterflies" Everytime The Elders Wanted To Speak To You?
by minimus inlooking back, i can see how the elders could "terrorize" different persons.
some people are shy by nature.
others were trained from their previous religions to be in subjection to the "shepherds".

the big problem is that they leave you in the dark about what it'll be all about and you start thinking about the possibilities. then they are prepared and at least 2, while you are alone and maybe completely perplexe at first.
i've developed a good way to avoid such sheperding calls. when 2 of them want to talk to me i say i'd rather only talk to one person (elder of choice) and only if he keeps it for himself. i also say i need to know about the topic, so i can prepare, as they are prepared too.
the outcome: they just leave me alone. if i indeed talk to the one elder of choice i make him promise to not tell anyone about the conversation first. so much to the 2 witness rule :-) -

I'm afraid you're going to have to cite examples of where I've done that.
hmm, got me wrong. you didn't misquote, but christians do. but you don't like it when people say "christians do" because you put yourself in the "christian" box. just let us have some prejudices and generalizations, will you?
You're starting yout assumption from a false premise.
not from a traditional christian/biblical point of view about good and evil. but thats where the problem begins - you actually are not in the "christian box". that's great, but thus you shouldn't feel attached to the label "christian". i think you are more than that. -

Dub Conspiracy Theories
by GetBusyLiving inwhat are some paranoid dub conspiracy theories that you've heard?
a dub i chatted with a week ago got all frothing-at-the-mouth excited as he told me one.
some people are trying to have a law passed in canada that will make any gay's who want to serve in a priesthood of their church allowable, regardless of the church's policy.

the funny thing is, that everything is a sign of "the end is very near", no matter what happens.
if everything runs fine and people are added to the congregation, they'd say "look how jehovah blesses the work, soon every sheep will be in and the end will come".
if everything runs horrible, people leave and the brothers are corrupt, they'd say "now that even in jehovah's people things like that happen, the end must be very near".
NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS - there's ALWAYS a prophecy to be fulfilled. -

New research on how Noah filled the ark
by No Apologies inthis is always a popular topic, and i just came across some startling new research on just how noah and his family were able to gather all the different kinds of animals as they were commanded to do.
it makes sense once you just think about it a bit.. .
new evidence suggests noah's sons rode flying dinosaurs .

now that sounds reasonable. i wonder when they'll copy'n'paste it to MEPS (or what is it called?).

funny how christians (well, that's the box you put yourself in, littletoe, that's not our fault ;-)) just like to misquote, misinterpret or even make up stories bout einstein or other scientists...
if evil would be the abscence of god, then every atheist or unbeliever or someone believing in a "false" god would be evil. everybody knows this is not the case (although the wts tried to make us believe it). -

it takes time...
by googlemagoogle intoday i visited a (ex)jw christian forum, the first one i registered to when i needed to talk about my doubts and thoughts.
i read my posts from 1 year ago, when i was really deep into research about the bible and the canon in particular.
now it will soon be one year ago that i finally accepted that there is no jehovah.

thanks for your comments. dennis, could you elaborate on what sounds so fictional?
the interesting thing i found out in many talks with several elders and other witnesses is, that there seems to be NOONE without having one or another problem with the wts.
for example when talking about birthdays, one elder told me "well, noone would be DFed for celebrating birthdays". when talking about the cross/pole problem, some completely agreed with my view. some even agreed with my later view on "inspired scripture".
the whole thing in the end came down to "it's an organization led by men, who commit errors". but that's exactly the excuse i always used to dismiss my doubts. maybe because i was always taught so. and this kind of thinking is VERY hard to deal with.
