Got a letter from my parents...
by Krystal inwell, yesterday evening was a little too emotional for my liking... .
i got home to find an envelope in my mailbox from my mom and dad... (i was df'ed 4 years ago and haven't spoken to them since) .
my sister's wedding announcement...she got married earlier this month.

the lazarus passage. when jesus starts crying because he sees mary cry.
and the last supper to cruzifixion part. i've always had tears in my eyes in the memorial.
but now it all doesn't have much impact on me anymore, at least in the context of "ransom". however, i love to see reinterpretations of the account, like judas being disappointed by jesus for not fighting against the romans and thus "betraying" him to make him fight. -

maybe I'm making too much out of it.......
by under74 ini'm going to try to make a long story short.... i moved away from my home city for grad school 2 years ago and left a couple boxes at my mom's for safe keeping.
my mom ended up moving to a new place during the 2 years i was in school.
i noticed on visits that there was only one box i recognized stored out in her new garage and asked her about it...she got defensive and said she took all that was boxed.

to some simple things we can add a lot of virtual value. especially when they remind us of someone important to us.
i do that too, i've always been sort of a nostalgic kind of person. i don't even need to see those things, but just know i have them. maybe boxed away in the basement. i wouldn't even notice if something's gone, but maybe one day i'd ask where it is and it would disturb me if it was lost.
it's like some part of ones past was finally closed forever. -

how could they see the early literature and still believe that the wt is the fds?
it's called "cognitive dissonance".
i "witnessed" to my family using a very simple approach. the revelation/climax book has a grey box somewhere in it with russel's picture. there it says, russel calculated the date 1914 from 606 (! not 607!), by also including the (nonexisting) year zero.
additionally every JW knows, russel said harmageddon would come in 1914.
so i told them, first of all he calculated using wrong dates (and pyramids, btw) and then the event he prophetized did not come.
what i got? some void looks, some "don't you believe in the FDS???", some "aha, interesting". you can't imagine how fast they can forget all i told them again. at least my brother is intelligent enough to grasp it. -

Will the WTBS ever relax the current clothing/dress/grooming standards?
by Utopian Reformist inas numbers and meeting attendance statistics continue to decrease in western lands, do you think the wtbs may someday relax it's current clothing and grooming policies to facilitate better attendance and make the meetings more comfortable?
