yes, prayers always work. you just never know how. and it really doesn't matter to whom you pray. everything works as long as you want to believe it.

So what is Debil da Satan doing these days...?
by upside/down ini mean (assuming dds as "christianity" teaches) what is his typical day like... what does an eons old entity with almost "almighty god" like intellect, and lots of power, legions of deemunz and do all day (of course i'm assuming his day never ends as he can fly about the earth and keep up with daylight)?.
where is his "rebutal" to all the one sided info we get in da bible... certainly he has a beef and a right to talk openly about it (like us).. please don't say he's out to get all the dubs (oops i meant the 144k).
he's already got them in his back pocket.. i really would like to know... .

What do people do in a discussion that ticks you off?
by Terry inwe all enjoy an interesting discussion.
but, sooner or later it seem inevitable that somebody comes along and throws a monekywrench into the mechanism and the huge engine sputters to a halt.. what do people do in a discussion that ticks you off and stops the flow of conversation and turns it from being productive to unproductive?.
is it as simple as disagreeing with you?.

that very much depends on my mood. and on how often i have already had a discussion on the topic. but what really drives me nuts is when someone simply ignores arguments and keeps on repeating some schedule. that often happens in bible-discussions.
when i offer some argument or contradiction or whatever, others often simply go on "you can only be saved by believing in jesus". i bet you know what i mean. happens all the time. -

how can you stay?
by zaphod in.
speaking as someone who believed it all right up until about a year after i was df'd i just cannot understand the reasoning of people who don't go out on field service, don't go to meetings, don't participate or believe and still stay in the organisation.. i know that it is hard to leave, it's made to be hard, but some of the postings on this site make me think that it must be harder still living a lie and keeping up the pretense.. if you don't believe, why would you want to conform to all the petty rules and subject yourself to men that you don't believe have any authority.. i really do hope that as soon as possible you can all take a deep breath and finally be true to yourself.. zaphod

i'm one of those who still stay in. it's because of family and friends. nothing less.
it's pretty hard to listen to all that crap in the meetings, that's why i try to skip them amap. there's a huge breakdown with my wife every few months, but that's alright. sometimes i offer some of my views to different topics when talking to my family and my friends but other than that i calmed down and still calm down when it comes to religion.
the less you care about "truth" in the religious sense, the less problems i have staying in the org. -

The church may be swinging right.
not much swinging here. ratzinger was a close friend of wojtila and already had a huge influence in the church, especially regarding doctrine. he'll just continue where wojtila stopped.
