you may want to read http://www.religioustolerance.org/satanism.htm
most if not all rumours spread about satanisms are made up. i feel pretty atracted by satanism, as its ethics are very high and logical, but i don't want to be the follower of any philosophy.
the negation of christian rites by satanists is either made up or practiced for fun by some teenage metal-fans.

They really don't have the truth! Their own web server admits it!
by AlmostAtheist inhttp://www.watchtower.org/thetruth
in case you have friendly html errors turned on, here's the output i get from the watchtower's site when i go searching for thetruth:.
it's nice to see them admitting it.

must have been some internet demon (daemon). young people ask: "are the watchtower webservers posessed by daemons?".

I met a person a couple of years ago someone who was a satanist and actually perfomed a marriage ceremony with satan involving blood, as they all do, marrying to satan much as the christians are mystically married to Christ.
either this person was telling you a joke, or didn't know anything about satanism. real satanists don't even believe in satan, the story above is pretty much a made up misconception by prejudiced christians. -

Can you solve this paradox?
by Rod P inyou have a bow and arrow.
you shoot the arrow with the bow from point a to point b.. but the arrow will never reach point b, it's destination.
before the arrow can reach point b, it must first travel half way (let's call that point c).. but before the arrow can reach point c, it must first travel half way (let's call that point d).. but before the arrow can reach point d, it must first travel half way (let's call that point e).. do you see the problem?

infinite, that's the word, sorry.
the thing is, that the space between a and b becomes infinitely small.
i'm thinking of an even tougher paradox... when the arrow travels from a to b, and c is halfway, it wont even reach c, because to reach c it has to pass halfway of a to c, which is d, and it wont even reach d, as... to be continued. -

i don't believe in demons and all, but one question you might ask yourself about those "demon-posessed" items: why would a demon do that? why would a higher spirit want to posess a porcelain doll? why would it come to your house when you watch harry potter or listen to led zep? if they really are all about enjoying their last years, they'd come over for a beer or two (or three... or four maybe) and well.. maybe listen to led zeppelin, so you probably really should get rid of those ;-)

the number of halfways is indefinite. so when the arrow reaches point B, it's actually still flying.

Demanding the unusual
by greendawn inyou can approach god and granted to ask the fulfillment of any two wishes however extra ordinary, what would you ask?
.
my favourite is an ecological one, the return to existence of all extinct animal and plant species, then some time travel ability to go back and see ancient worlds and participate in them.

hmmm... you want all extinct animals back, but most of the existing animals and organisms gone? interesting.
