Seeker4 Invited to a Committee Meeting Tonight
by Seeker4 inyup, they are going ahead with it.
i spent most of yesterday, sunday, writing what turned out to be a 10 page letter to the body of elders about why i feel they are out of line in seeking to disfellowship me (for those new to this situation, i've been seperated from my wife and living with another woman for the past six months.
i've not been an active witness for a decade.).

this just goes to show how confusing the WTS stance on blood is. as far as i know some parts of blood are conscience matters but whole blood is still forbidden.

Thought from tonight's meeting
by jula71 injust a thought from tonight's bible reading that kinda hit in a funny way.
in all my years i've never heard this scripture used like this.
*** rbi8 1 samuel 21:12-13 ***

didn't moses lie to the egyptians about sarah. he said it was his sister instead of his wife to protect her. i think the WTS uses this example to justify lieing to protect themselves and promote "theocratic warefare".

Child abuse or consenual relationship?
by pratt1 ina few years ago my brother - law admitted that at 14 he had a sexual relationship for 5 years with the wife of an elder in his congo.. he was at 19 dfed for an affair he had with a fellow student.. he never told any one about the affair with the married sister, but now 10 years later, this sister and her unsufferable husband are planning to become assistant co. .
my mother - law, who is still in the"lie" now knows about this affair and has made the statement that she has probable asked for forgiveness in her heart therefore the elders do not need to know of the affair.. my brother - law is going through his own issues and because of the way he has been treated ie.. shunned, basically disowned by most of his family, he wants to expose her and her husband who he believes knew about the affair.. i've recommended that he discuss this with his therapist and that he should think about why he feels the need to expose her now.
by the way this sister is 2 year younger than his mom.

he should expose this woman for what she is. maybe getting it off of his chest will help his emotional situation.

What made YOU drop Christianity?
by GetBusyLiving inafter i read coc and left the dubs for a short while i considered myself christian.
the way franz explained it, all that is required is to have faith in jesus and to love your neighbor as yourself and then you will be 'saved'.
the more i started pealing away at the onion though the dumber the premise of someone dying for my 'sins' seemed, and i just lost faith in it altogether.

my dad asked me a similiar question. i told him that i had finally learned what it meant to put my faith and trust in god. i was going to live my left the best way i could and that was by loving my neighbor as myself. as for the rest i'd just let god decide.
