Theres still alot of stuff I have to get over.
This site has helped alot. People here are very intelligent and have researched alot of stuff.
I have asked many questions and have received much support.

just a question for the board's input.... background information:.
my wife, raised in a jw home, very popular elder as her father, living through the entire 1975 thing ("honey don't worry about passing 7th grade.
next year will be the new system..."), but beat up for years by the mind-control and spiritual abuse by the wts.... she has recently officially da'd from the society this spring, had her first birthday party ever (a huge blast of a great time!).

I am still dealing with this myself. I am considering therapy and have talked to many on this board.
I have also been encouraged to investigate for myself. So my journey has only started. I think it is an ongoing
process that will take time, especially for me and the subject of Armageddon.
There is tons of support, ask questions.

im kinda lost, if Im understanding this correctly, this book, "crisis of conscience" was written by a previous gb member?
if so, was he ever the president? df'd? how long ago?

did the wts's lies, hypocricy, corruption, abuse, dishonesty, control, inconsistencies, self-righteousness, judgment, sexism, ignorance, and anything else you can think of.................................................make you lose whatever faith you had before??????????????.
i know many here were raised dubs and forced to do things until old enough to stand up to their parents, not because of belief!
but i'm interested in knowing how many had some kind of belief in god that was later damaged or destroyed by the wts's teachings and/or treatment?.
I did belive in God before the wtbts, he just became more real to me. But I also became afraid of him too. Before the wtbts I wasnt afraid.
I find myself a little in the same situation.
I really dont know what to believe. One day I can believe so strongly in Armageddon and think I am going to die, and the next
day I feel like going to my psychic and getting a reading. Im really messed in the head.

when you were disfellowshipped, who was the first person you contacted?.
i'm just about to write a letter to my cousin who was disfellowshipped 15 years ago.. .
Actually, an old friend of mine that was df'd before me contacted me.
I was in another state, my old congregation got wind of it thru a friend in the congregation I was df'd from.
Then we got in touch with another friend of ours. We all went to high school together and went thru all
the ridicule together. Now we are all gonna go to our 10th year reunion. That should be interesting.

when i was disfellowshipped, i was really looking for a way out, although i did not want to be disfellowshipped, it was easier than making the break on my own.. i appreciate that many are distraught when they get df'd, but was the actual meeting controlled by the elders or you?.
how many were really in control of the meeting and knew that being disfellowshipped was actually a way of ensuring that you would get no more hassle from the elders?

I definitely didnt control the meeting
it was just to confirm the facts with me beforehand
it only took them not even 5 min to say convene with df'g outcome
