Is the WTS backing away from "Bible Tall Tales" ?
by Simon inwhen i was a kid, it seemed like not a meeting went by when you didn't hear about jonah or sampson and other tall tales from the bible.. now though, they seem to have been sidelined.
i guess the rest of the world caught on to the fact that these stories couldn't possibly be true and were so far fetched (yeah, even by bible standards) that they are just treated as 'stories' like aesop's fables.
saying that you believe in them as genuine accounts just makes you look like a crazy zealot.. but the wts is different.

There is a strong possibility today's Jehovah's Witnesses is pig ignorant, is there?
Do these people read, memorize, reflect, discuss, debate? I'm going to guess the answer is negative.
Without a core of basic, fundamental knowledge (which would include history, of course) there is not much
to hang one's faith on.

Today's modern JW has THE ORGANIZATION to believe in. The Org does all the reading, studying, analyzing and reflection
FOR THE OTHERS.
So, the rank and file is just an empty vessel.
They KNOW nothing, like the character of LENNY in OF MICE AND MEN.
They just want to hear the same story over and over about how great it is going to be when they get to where they're going.
"Tell me about the rabbits, George. Tell me about the rabbits."

Encounter with JWs on Literature Cart , strange happening -maybe ?
by jhine inyesterday i had a conversation with a man and lady who were with a literature cart in our local town centre .
among other things discussed was the accuracy of the nwt , which i said wasn't very accurate.. the man , of course , led the discussion from the jw perspective and looked up on his phone some quotes from "experts " endorsing the translation .
he asked the lady to make note of the names , at my request, so that i could check these quotes later .

They are empty vessels.
Without a publication nearby they are but the sound of wind blowing through an empty cave.
Jesus directed his disciples to carry nothing with them, not even a bag.
I assume the disciples knew something when asked.

I believe Aristotle described truth as " that which describes reality."
That encompasses a means by which we distinguish our formless, ephemeral THOUGHTS about a real thing and the real thing itself.
Example:
We can assert "Nothing is real." But, we still have to use a door to enter and leave a room rather than walking through a wall.

Words are powerful.
Generic words are useful viral agents for agents of insidious mind rape.
TRUTH seems to be a rather pristine and beautiful word not unlike FREEDOM or PEACE.
However, the Devil is in the details.
Look at the term CHRISTIANITY.
That is a "thing" right?
WRONG!
Christianity is an illusion of pixels! Those 40,000 denominations are the pixels.
When you get right down to it--there are disagreements, doctrinal divisions, sectarian arguments, dramatically differing interpretations
which have fractured this word CHRISTIANITY into an amorphous cloud.
I use this rule of thumb to explain to others in a debate how treacherous a word can be.
Words are like sticky notes which must be attached to something like labels.
You can put the sticky note: CHAIR on all kinds of objects barely resembling one another.
CHAIR is a conceptual thing with thousands of instances all over the world. Few match!
THE WORD: TRUTH is a concept like that of CHAIR.
It is only when we clearly attach a SPECIFIC instance to our word for others to see--then and only then--
we are communicating.
INSTANTIATION is a useful term to learn.
Instantiation is the creation of a real instance or particular realization of an abstraction.

Quietly replacing those guesses has been a full-time job while maintaining the façade.
Opinions published in the Watchtower are never honestly labeled ‘opinion.’
They are counterfeited as divinely transmitted accurate knowledge. i.e. ‘The Truth.’
The Watchtower Society wants you to keep your eye on the Wall while ignoring the missing bricks!
Here is how the swindle occurred. Notice how specific, confident, and authoritative this teaching is.

This 1914 end is the foundation of all later doctrines. But, the end did NOT happen.
A religious crime had been committed termed FALSE PROPHECY.
A criminal seeks to destroy evidence which proves guilt.
Watch how the bricks are replaced by the wood blocks.
Below is ‘proof’ obtained from measurements in the GREAT PYRAMID?

REPLACEMENT ‘brick.’

Did you understand what you just read? 1914 as the END was predicted. The END did not come, so the measurements ‘proving’ the non-event had to be changed! The date was pushed forward one year. 1915 was as easily ‘proved’ and predicted as 1914 had been. BOTH WERE FALSE DATES.

How about the worship of Jesus Christ? Let us look at that ‘brick’ in the Wall of ‘Truth.’
"Jehovah God commands all to worship Christ Jesus because Christ Jesus is the express image of his Father, Jehovah, and because he is the Executive Officer of Jehovah always carrying out Jehovah’s purpose (Heb.:3–6)."

They do not understand who built the wall. They are unaware of all the replacement activity.

What Jesus + Apostles did which JW's do NOT do is quite a list, indeed.
Jesus instructed those he sent forth to not take anything with them, not even a bag. JW's go nowhere in service without
a bookbag and tons of literature to place.
Jesus instructed those he sent forth to cure the sick and cast out demons. No JW does these things.
Jesus instructed those he sent forth to NOT move house to house. They were supposed to stay and eat and drink
with the householder whatever they were given. JW's miss the details on this rather blindly.
The form of religion considered pure and undefiled is laid out rather plainly in
James 1: 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
JW's certainly devote zero time with widows and orphans outside the Kingdom Hall.

Keep Progressing as a Minister
Christians should progress as ministers. That is why Jesus gave his followers progressive training in the preaching work. (Luke 9:1-5; 10:1-11) It is also why Aquila and Priscilla took Apollos into their company and “explained the way of God more accurately to him.” (Acts 18:24-26) For the same reason, Paul encouraged the experienced evangelizer Timothy to continue applying himself to his teaching, so that his advancement would be “plainly seen by all people.” (1 Tim. 4:13-15) No matter how long we have been slaving for the Lord as publishers of the good news, we need to continue sharpening our preaching skills.
Luke 9:1-5
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
9 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town. 5 If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

In Acts 18: 25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
DID YOU SPOT THE CHANGE?
He was already teaching ACCURATELY. What he was given was a more ADEQUATE explanation.
The JW version reverses that.
