Relevant: Josephus ( Jewish Antiquities 20.9.1) describes how, for just a few months in 62 AD, there was no Roman procurator over Judea. While the next procurator was still on his way, the high priest Hananiah ben Hananiah arranged for criminal trials against his political enemies, in order to have them executed. Josephus doesn't say it directly, but this would suggest local executions had to be approved by Roman authority, and the high priest took advantage of the power vacuum.

Young black men father children out of wedlock, and then leave the mothers to support the next generation
by plunging them into poverty. Can we all agree this happens at an epidemic level? Would you accept the statistic of
7 out of 10?
Is this a racism issue? I don't see how. It is a choice and it is a fatal one.
This, of course, occurs in all colors of communities--BUT NOT AT THIS HIGH RATE.
So what? So, each generation falls further and further behind. That's what.
Will the mother and the child survive without becoming DEPENDANT on whatever "help" is available?
What are the choices? Which of the available choices gives this mother and child a genuine chance at
escaping, crime, drugs, gangs, poverty?

This is where Community Leaders can make all the difference in the world.
I earlier cited the model of Martin Luther King and his Peace Marches, Sit-ins, and passive resistance movements as a WINNING STRATEGY.
The struggle of the black community for EQUAL RIGHTS was brought into public consciousness as a problem with a possible solution.
The opposers to equal rights were the BRUTES.
The picture was clear and the solution was begun.
_______________________
All these years later, that model of HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL has been abandoned by black leaders. The effectiveness of change by legal means
has been discarded. WHY?
Corrupt leadership. Race pimps. Self-aggrandizing spokesmen. Inflammatory media. Dishonest analysis.

The politics of RACE has been to appeal to blacks by throwing money and promises at programs to gain their votes, and once elected, to ignore the
rest of their problems. Democrats are really good at this.
Republicans are completely clueless.

Where was black leadership in Ferguson when the young man who was shot was being used as an excuse to break things, burn things, to loot and
shoot?
THERE WAS NO LEADERSHIP. There was no Martin Luther King.
There was Rev. Al Sharpton. There was a screaming bereaved father,"BURN IT DOWN--BURN THIS BITCH DOWN."
Where were the Leaders? Where was a moderate voice among the angry ones?
NO LEADERSHIP, NO FUTURE.

I wrote a huge reply and then left the room before clicking "submit." When I came back, it was gone!
Sigh. I'll try again later.
after a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .
A family is the proving ground for co-operation, goal setting, honor, pulling together toward goals of mutual benefit.
A family with a father and a mother who set the goal of education for their children is NUMBER ONE in setting the
path for the income of that child when he/she grows up.
Unless I'm greatly mistaken, black communities with great unrest are communities without father+mother and the
emphasis on good education.
It is very disturbing to see the differences between Asian families who arrive from across the ocean with a strong
work and education ethic completely overtaking and out-performing our American black families in almost every venue.
Can we doubt the cause as unwed pregnancy and fatherless homes?
Asian families live with several generation under one roof, all pulling together, pooling income and sharing child-rearing.
These contrasts and comparisons aren't easy to face without anger and blame-shifting.
Instead of these ethnic minorities learning from each other, their appears to be a barrier of unnecessary enmity.
The glaring difference, it would seem between Asian and Black communities is the absence of a FAMILY BINDING.
The core of civilization is FAMILY.
I was speaking to an Asian friend of mine a while back. He told me of the shame any young person would bring
to themselves or their family if they didn't make excellent grades in school.
I have a two daughters and a son in college. All three have told me of the extraordinary dedication to excellence
in study and grade performance of their Asian roommates.
My daughter Lily told me she herself was shamed into spending a lot more time hitting the books and making the
effort to not just PASS a class, but to do so with top marks.
when i look back at it, i must apologize to anyone that was disfellowshipped for the treatment we gave to you.
we clearly set ourselves up as judges and often viewed disfellowshipped persons as "dead"!
i hope anyone that is still in the congregation knows that this treatment is unchristian, unkind and unloving..
Jehovah's Witnesses don't see former members as STRAY SHEEP to be rescued.
They aren't worth reclaiming.
In fact, they seem to think priority number one for a stray is persuading the rest of the flock
of excellent reasons to abandon the shepherd.
You know what is missing from this calculus is the value of human life.
Meaning what? Each and every person has value, even if that person doesn't agree with you.
The insecurity about the binding power of their "Truth" is quite telling.

The plight of the Amalekites is one shared all throughout the ages. One need look no further than the atrocities committed in Syria by ISIS, the genocide in Kosvo, or the mass graves filled with Tutsis in Rawanda to see the destructive patterns of religion.

Why are the riots in Ferguson pretending to be a meaningful and justifiable protest when stealing things is merely local terrorism?
What would Martin Luther King have done if he were standing there watching all this? Do you think he'd approve?

Terry, Coded Logic explained to you why your answers to your own questions are wrong. There is no one, unique answer to the questions you asked that specifies a race or religion, as there are multiple answers. Your attempt to say "Muslims" is incorrect as members of other religions currently are doing the thing you speak of, for instance. It's a wrong answer.

This reminds me of the fellow who dynamites the cave entrance and declares, "There is no way out."
Let's snuff that fuse before the cave in becomes self-fulfilling prophecy.
Quakers, Adventists, Mennonites, Amish, JW's are but a few Christian denominations who are non-violent in practice.
Martin Luther King borrowed the strategy of satyagraha from Ghandi (passive resistance) and in both instances, this strategy
won the day. I would assert as a FACT (as well as historically true) there is something demonstrably DIFFERENT and EFFECTIVE about
non-violent protest.
If the Ferguson, Missouri protests had a non-violent moral compass policies and hearts might well have been changed for the better.
WHY THE DIFFERENCE in these groups?
Why is one group willing to suffer to bring about an ideal, whereas the other groups want OTHERS to do the suffering.
Can you riddle me that one, Batman?

The fact that your questions have no unique answer shows you why the worldview of those that believe it does is so errsant in the first place. Because all of these things are tied in with nuances and specifics of peope in similar situations, things that cross bounds like race and religion, it's impossible to single out a single one at any point in time for such broad questions.

i mean ok, the catholic church seems to make 'adjustments' more or less , by accepting previously held prejudices.

Jehovah's Witnesses were a branch off the limb of Adventism, with the trunk of that tree being WILLIAM MILLER's fantasy about exact dates for
the arrival of Lord Jesus.
These were people who elevated their own self-styled cunning above common sense.
No matter how many times they got things wrong THEY WOULDN'T ADMIT IT.
Like a crazed, addicted gambler who loses his rent money at the crap tables, the Adventists kept doubling down on yet another try.
Jehovah's Witnesses invented a self-myth: "faithful and discreet slave" inside tips from Jehovah.
Those tips were nonsense and their horse never even crossed the finish line!
But, an addiction to gambling has less to do with winning than it does the fact all the EXCITEMENT and harrowing suspense
makes life really exciting, and they loathe packing it in to go back to ordinary human achievement.

In Christian denominations (all 40,000+ of them!) every possible variation on a theme split off into branches, sects, cults, congregations, etc.
The only reason this happens is because Protestants worship the Bible. (The book about nothing.)
Protestantism carved out an identity as the UN-cola of soft drinks, i.e.,"We sure as hell aren't anything like Catholics."

1,500 years of ONE monolithic church allowed prelates, priests, pontiffs, and other pointy-hats to do as they damned well pleased.
Protestantism was born with just one monk, Martin Luther, writing down the obscene list of blasphemies perpetrated by this Organization and demanding they answer for their hellish behavior.
Once they (Protestants) saw how much fun it was protesting what others believed--well, they sort of couldn't stop themselves.
Interpreting the scriptures is a lot like printing your own money!
After all, the Catholic Church could make up whatever their imaginations concocted and heaven itself would rubber stamp it, "What is

That successful act set the stage for OPINION to rule the church forever into the future!
They don't call it that, however. It is called HERMENUTIC.
