do you think the gb should limit contact with bethelites because of possible harm that could come to them right there at headquarters.
i mean think of how many bethelites have interent access and know the gb are tyrants, but are stuck there at bethel because they have no money and no place to turn because they have been there for many years.. i think many gbs purposely keeps to themselves now a days, they probably should even think seriously of a body guard even while at bethel.. have you notice the wt doesn't give any advance notice when a gb will be speaking at conventions anymore, could it be that they are worried that some father or other family member who lost a child through thier no blood policy, finds out throught the internet that the gb are phoneies and now blames the gb for the loss of life.
think of how dangerous it would be to give advanced notice when so and so gb member would be giving a convention talk.
I think looking at porn has been the first step many of us make, and then looking at apostate sites soon follows. Did you get progamed while surfing the net at bethel?
LOL. i never looked at 'apostate' stuff while i was at bethel, i was too busy.
i definitely started to leave the org while i was out there and i would've been more than receptive to this site and others (towards the end, i wasn't going to meetings or out in service, as odd as that may sound). i just never bothered to look for apostate stuff.

pretty much everyone i worked with had a computer in their room. at the time i was there, netzero was still free so i would say the majority of the guys i knew w/ a computer had internet access. i would assume it's lower now since they would have to pay a monthly bill.
for the record, i looked at porn constantly and the home overseer never said anything so i'm pretty sure he never checked my PC (or more likely, EVERYONE'S computer was chock full of porn).

i was at bethel until 2001 and had personal internet access the entire time. it was dial-up and the only way it could be monitored is if someone checked your computer while you were away. there's absolutely no way that bethel could monitor dial-up access because every single room has a phone line.

I see you've moved on to the evolution argument without providing any proof for your earlier statements. I guess you could call that hit and run evangelism.
sorry, that's probably my fault.
the bible shows that jesus is jehovah and there are verses to prove this.
sorry bud, but evolution does not address the initial cause of life, only the observed changes in life forms over time as demonstrated in the fossil record.
we could discuss all day long what is (or is not) the initial cause of life and we'd never say one thing about evolutionary theory. first, please, learn what evolution is (and is not).
the bible shows that jesus is jehovah and there are verses to prove this.
Do you think we came from monkeys then?
i can't speak for undercover, but i would suggest you read up on evolution first and then i'm sure there are many here that would love to discuss this subject with you.
for all you scientific brains out there .
.. the bible claims lifespans of over 900 years.
what does science say about this?.
LHG:
I always wondered about this. But what I could not really swallow was that the earth's population became what it is today (several billion) over 6000 years from only two people (then 8 after the flood).
People would have had to live very very long. Men would have had to father over 100 children and women would have had to bear several dozen (not to mention multiple births).
shoot...you should check out "Is It God's Word?" by Joseph Wheless (try google. you can read it for free online). he talks about this very thing (especially regarding how much abraham and the israelites would have had to...well, you know...to establish the nation of israel. his conclusion was that every woman would have to, on average, produce something like one baby every 4 or 5 months.)

I don't know my bible that well, but if a person could have lived 900 years, wouldn't it be written somewhere in the bible that a person could be talking to his great great great great great grandfather or something like that.
at least one of the unbelievably long life spans listed in the bible is self contradictory. (to reach his age, methusaleh would have had to live through the flood although he was not on the ark)

i tried to cut and paste from the last article (it's not letting me and i'm easily frustrated), but i think it does a good job of acknowledging difficulties in determining age of bones (edited to add: of course, not to be confused with 'date of bones'). even though it states that some scientists feel that the avg. ages are underestimated, 20-30 years is a far cry from 700-900 years.
