Question for those who believe the bible.

a thread started by realist which mentioned the flood and the disappearance of the dinosaurs got me thinking.

since i do not own a bible i had to download one from the internet to check a few things out (my computer is really pissed at me now).

it's been many years since i read the bible but i needed to be accurate in my research to ask my question.

i have several questions, the first of which concerns the blood issue.. i am a bit puzzled as to why jws insist on refusing to accept blood, even if it means the difference between life and death.. in the bible it says,'... you should abstain from blood...'.

how are we to interpret that?

well, bearing in mind that it was written several thousand years ago, it would seem logical to assume that the writer's intended meaning was to persuade the people living in that time not to drink blood.

i was raised jehovah witness.

i am not practicing at the moment!.

it's been over 15 years, that i don't attend the kingdom hall.. i have been married with a man that is a practicing seventh day adventist, and as everyone knows the conflicts in our beliefs are tremendous.. i don't agree with his beliefs and visa versa!.

ok, this question is for Jason, first off I want to say that I am NOT trying to knock on your religion or be disrespectful but I am very curious in what JW's believe. Alright you said something about how you believe that God was raised from the dead in only one form right? Well 1 Corithians 15:17 says..."And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, you are still in your sins." how do you feel about that scripture?

for myself, it took awhile for me to accept the trinity doctrine, but i finally came to believe!.

I can prove that God does not exist.

just thinking.... i can believe that a higher intelligence entity (hie) cannot be proven.

i am willing to accept that a hie cannot even be definitively induced, even for marvels that we cannot demonstrate at this time (e.g.

natural transformation of elements into living material).

Hmmm... touching story, it really moved me. In my posts I tell facts not my emotions. And by the way, if you here to exchange ideas, why does it concern you what other people believe in the first place? That shouldn't matter.

If Jehovah "signing" a dotted line marking His words is the case, then we cannot take anything in the bible seriously or believe it was ispired by God. But through this He asks us to have faith in what he says. And also, why does it bother you that I voice my opinion??? It seems like I'm not the one with the problem but you, and this is supposed to be a place where I can ask questions to other JW to try and understand them and what they believe, but instead I am getting responses that are defenses and automatically assuming I am trying to put everyone down because they are a different religion.

But in the being of God there are not three individuals, but only three personal self distinctions within one devine essence. Then again, personality in man implies independence of will, actions, and feeling leading peculiar to the individual. This cannot be thought of in the connection with the trinity:each person is self concious and self directing, yet never acts independent

or in opposition ( to the others). When we say that God is a Unity, we mean that though (He) is in himself a threefold center of life His life is not split into three. He is one in essence, in personality, and in will. When we say that God is a Trinity in Unity, we mean that there is unity in diversity, and that diversity manifests itself in persons, in characteristics, and operation.Also if there is NO trinity what so ever how do you explain.....

1.In Genesis 1:26 Jehovah is speaking of creation, and He speaks in the plural number, " Let US create man in our image after OUR likeness"

2.In acts 5:34 in verse 3 Peter accuses Ananias of lying to the Holy Spirit and in verse 4 Peter declares that Anaias had lied to God, thus equating the Holy Spirt with the Godhead. And also who else but a person can be lied to?

3. In John 14:6 Jesus told him, " I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

4.Acts 13:2,4. I the context , the Holy Spirit speaks and sends., as He does in 21:10-11, where he prophesies Paul's imprisonment. Only a personality can do these things not "an invisble act of force" as the JW's describe him.

5.Such references such as John 14:16-17, 26; and 16:7-14 need NO comment . He is a devine person and He is God.

I could do more but let's try that for starters.
