First JW Commercial Seen

so, i'm sitting in front of the tube surfing through channels, and i come upon the tail end of a jw commercial whose tag line is "love builds happy families", and i'm thinking, only if you submit to wt brainwashing.
once on the inside, if you choose to leave, you'll really begin to see the "love" jws are all about.. i guess with dwindling membership and their much ado about nothing house to house "ministries" bringing no new blood in, they're taking a recruiting cue from christendom.

It was just post 9/11 and I saw one of their Ads running here in the Philadelphia viewing area. It was a disgusting play on the fear of terrorism and uncertainty. It was definitely a WTS ad - the voiceover at the end said - "brought to you by The Christian Cong. of Jehovah's Witnesses" - it was the last spot aired during the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

How old were you when you left?
by somebodylovesme ini only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.

Dragged along to meetings, service, etc from the age of 10...baptized at age 17 (privately reproved twice for the usual sin @ 19 and 21)...married at 24...Min Servant at 29 (wife pioneered, I gave 2 public talks)... serious cracks in my "spirituality" started at 30... went online at 33 and was out within a month (this time publicly reproved over the UN scandal.. )

Well, sadly I have. Probably like 15 pounds or so. I feel like shit physically. I guess increased appetite is probably from the mild depression? I feel down since losing my mother and sisters because I left the JW's. Also, the fact that they have nothing to do with my 3 year old boy bothers the hell out of me - he was only 1 when we left the org and they haven't seen him since. I need to lose this weight, but when I'm down I feel like eating. I did start seeing a therapist about all of this probably a year ago - but he seemed really uninterested (and was expensive) - plus I haven't found anywhere but this forum where people really understand what we've been through. So, anyone else eating there way through depression?
