  my last attempts at posting were to no avail so i'm just going to test this out first and they edit and post something else.-it worked.. i have been reading a lot of the material on this website and find most of it interesting.

  i'm still a witness but have some questions about bible/doctrine that haven't been answered to my satisfaction.

  it seems that when i discuss things with people (i.e witness elders) they more or less don't listen to my arguements.

  When slaves were freed in this country some chose to stay behind and continue to work for their respective masters (albeit former masters). Why? Probably because there was a certain "comfort" level there - a familiarity, if we can call it that. Those that left the plantations often left behind family and friends in the pursuit of freedom and independence. So, yes it can be very lonely - at first.

  as has been stated already, the presentation made from the silent lambs source in connection with the child abuse issue completely misrepresents my position.

  when i spoke by phone recently with the author of that presentation, and pointed out that i had never expressed the views presented, his comment was that from his previous conversation with me (held some months earlier) he "got the impression that i was not on the same wave length" with him.

  i have kept a few, mainly so i can have a good laugh now and then, and highlighting all the double talk.. what did you do with all your jw publications??

  mikepence threatened to sue me / contributions

  as you may or may not be aware the poster 'mikepence' has asked people to donate to enable him (and his family?

  ) to travel to the silentlambs march and to file charges against their alleged abuser.

  because he seemed to suddenly become very opposed to the idea of attending the march, i and some others asked him what i thought were simple and reasonable questions.

  Here's my 2 cents for what it's worth:

  1) I am Mike Pence's brother in law.

  2) Mike is an honest person.

  3) Mike's child (my nephew) was severely sexually assaulted by the PO at my congregation.

  4) Mike and family will be flying to Philly to bring formal charges against this elder, and will more than likely still be attending the Silent Lambs march. (Mike resolved his issues in a conversation with Sheila Bowen last night)

  5) Mike ( a computer programmer) has done work for Bill Bowen's Silentlambs website for free (maybe Bill could verify that this is an accurate statement).

  6) Most of Mike's funds were not contributed by posters to this forum.

  Please go to the contribution link and request your refund if you feel that your funds are being misappropriated in any way.
