Cagefighter silently entered the new system Sept 8, 2012
by Cagefighter ini believe i might have silently entered the new system this morning.
you see, i woke up at 6 am on a saturday (that is a sign of the seventh seal in itself).
i was supposed to go to my first habitat for humanity build with a bunch of fellow evil doers from christedom where we would feast on the blood of matyrs and have a satanic orgy before building a house on the backs of captured slaves.. instead i met some really nice people and did some work myself.

Yurts - Relatively Safe Housing for Earthquake-Prone Areas???
by ziddina ini've always had a fascination for yurts... and i've been wondering - wouldn't these make wonderful homes for earthquake-prone areas with a relatively mild climate?.

Zid - yurts are very cool. But I agree with jgnat. I recall a night in June, sleeping in a tent in northern Alberta, where I was sure I was going to freeze to death. Not sure I could do that in winter here. Mongolia has temperature extremes (check out some of the Mount Everest documentaries), so perhaps they know something we don't. My grandparents wintered in a similar structure when they first arrived here, so maybe it's possible?
PS, the board acting funny - I"ve noticed if I resize my browser it fixes it sometimes?

I thought deaf people couldnt hear...but didnt know they couldnt read!

just because deaf people cant hear doesnt mean they can not read.. deaf people dont need a signed version of a book.. they can read the same version as everyone else.. .
