i heard from someone that the wts was going to or had already announced something about the un involvement at an assembly.
anyone else heard of this or is it a local thing ?.
i would guess they may have only done this because of the coverage in the uk national newspaper which they know they have to counter.
Not heard anything, but I do know that it is Watchtower policy to keep quiet on such matters. A small item appeared in the local rag in one of my old congregations and the elder concerned told me that the society advised him not to make any statement so as not to "throw fuel on the fire" which would risk bringing Jehovah's name into dis-repute.

way back when in my pioneering days, when we were out in service we would often talk about what to do when the great tribulation came along.
one of my pioneering buddies told me that he was so sure the gt was around the corner that he went and buried some food for the bros and sis to eat when we fled to the hills.

One brother who is a ministerial servant proclaims regularly "do you realise we are united in so many ways, for instance, on a Sunday the whole world wide brotherhood all study the very same Watchtower article!"
The same brother hates blacks and other foreigners stating "as long as they work and don't sit on they're black bums sucking away at our taxes, I don't mind."
This man is the step-dad witness I grew up with who is also a violent person.
