HI- is this special meeting on march 20 th the same one that was formally scheduled for march 7th? There was an earlier post about a special meeting that was to take place on the 7th of March.??

Television Show on the Jehovah's Witnesses on February 7th

just a reminder that there will be a television show tomorrow night at 7 pm central time (usa) on the eternal word television network about the jws.. i will be giving my story of how i was raised as a jehovah's witness, served time at bethel, was a pioneer etc.
i am a catholic now.. in any case, the show is live.

by sugarbritches inhi- i would like to know if anyone has any good scriptures that i could hit someone with when they say that they have to do whatever the elders tell them- even if they feel the elders are wrong and in error- they say the scriptures tell us to be obedient to those taking the lead.
they say we are to follow the elders instructions and if they are in error- jehovah will make it right.
i feel we should never blindly follow anyone.

Seeing JWs in a positive light.
by ScoobySnax innot a new light, just a positive light.. sometimes on here i worry that all jws are painted with a bad brush when i know that not to be the case.
today i was looking after a jw patient on the ward and she was the most wonderful old girl you could meet, she really made me smile, and she was bright as a button.
later her family came in, who i didn't recognise and they were just as pleasent.

I'm sure there must be some nice ones out there, but i haven't met one yet. That doesn't mean they don't exist- it just means that the ones i have dealt with were heartless. Sad but true.

Is country music more approved than any other for a witness?
by wordlywife inmy husband has recently started listening almost exclusively to country.
occasionally we would listen to it before, but every time i get in a car he has driven or we are riding he has it on, when before we always had classic rock on.
i don't mind country music, but this recent change of listening habits in light of his having commenting priveledges back again makes me wonder if listening to anything but country is frowned upon by wt ordinances?

Hi worldly wife---- I sang with a Jw for 5 years in a local country band. The elders told him to stop singing with me-- too much association with a non -witness you know. But they never said a word about the songs that we sang- and my partner sang a lot of conway twitty songs such as i've already loved you in my mind and tight fittin jeans.
