  Problems with JW daughter-in-law

  i haven't been here in a long time so i'd like to say hi again.. i do want to share something with you if i may.

  over a period of time my grandson who is 15 has been allowed to come over and stay with us as my yougest son is his uncle who is 16 they got on so well together talking football and rapping music.he would phone my son on a regular basis,and then his mother said he could stay over sometimes.the more he stayed with us the more he opened up about what was happening to him at home,he told me he didn't want to be a jw and was always rebellious towards it this i always knew.he is only allowed out with jw friends he he is monitered whilst on his computer and when he phoned my son his mum or dad(my eldest son)were always present.so he wasn't allowed a private phone call,my grandson told me that his mum and his dad were hitting him really hard and on several occasions he wanted to leave home.. i listened intently and felt sad and disappointed that he was being treated in this way as his dad was never treated that way as a child.my eldest son married a jw girl and after a few years i saw the change in him.

  my daughter-in-law however is a control freak and she was hitting my grandson when he was a toddler as i threatened her once i would report her, not long after they moved to another area.. time went by and normality resumed.anyway,my grandson was telling me that his mother is bombarding him about armageddon and that if he dosen't conform he will die with no hope,he said nan i don't really believe that.

  Your grandson is old enough to get a divorcement from his parents if he feels he is being abused. The Son and daughter-in law are just plain mean to mistreat your grandson.

  My son who lived with his Dad at 16 refused to attend any more meetings. He was 6 foot talk and his Dad and he got to a fight, but my son was able to stand up for himself and quit meetings. He has never attended anymore and it has been almost a year now. My youngest son has moved in with his 21 year old brother and has much more freedom. So both my sons have left the JW. For your grandson's sake talk to the school he goes too. You might be able to talk to him there by phone to see if he wants to pursue living with you. I knew of another your JW girl who fought to live with her grandmother. The girls Dad was outraged but stopped contacting the girl. They consider her apostate now. The Grandmother and her mothers sister have helped her get away from the JW's.

  These kids need all the help they can get, and usually schools are supportive of helping kids get out of cults. They helped my son get the support he needed.

  Boy that is so true. You know thinking about how 3 years ago when I left they just constantly harassing us to turn in our time. And if you didn't someone would call you to see if you had even 1 hr to turn in and forgot. I think of my ex-husband who still a very active JW. He is now almost 59 and he still looking for the end every darn day through new on the TV. It has been 29 years since 1975, what in the heck is keeping these ones like me who became a JW just before the 1975 date still in it. I had a woman friend who was disfellowshipped before me who just went back to it and got reinstated. She saw the problems but still clung to the believe that the WTS has the truth and is directed by God. The fear of having to come to see that it was all just bullshit is too much for them.

  My sons and I are so very glad to be out.

  Still Demonstrating/Prostesting at the KH and Support is Growing

  we laid low for a week from picketing the kingdom hall.

  i wanted to see how things would go with the emergency hearing before i continued.

  because of the pending restraining order sara applied for, i cannot go within 100 yards of her or her husband, mark.

  Over the 29 years I was a JW I saw protesters at conventions. I can't tell you how much I wished to talk to them to find out why they were doing it. Of course my then JW husband would never have permitted me to do such a thing. But boy do I wish I had back then. You keep protesting, people who go to the KH's need to see something is wrong. This covering up child abuse by the Elders is simply sick. If we don't speak up how will they know. It took me years but finally I talked to those who had lerft the JW's and I found their reasons for leaving were as sound as were mine. It gives your girls a voice too. Just make sure you follow the court rules so you don't compromise your case.

  if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things?

  .all evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years?

  as a young person you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

  Darn and I believed that nonsense. I wasted my youth chasing that new system dream of the the WTS. What I could do with that 30 years back now, I'd be a college graduate, have a profession and have lived a good deal better than I did during those years. Can't tell you how that brought back memories reading that. LOL How silly it all is.

  you are invited to attend a conference of former jws october 21-24 at 1835 n. western in wenatchee wa 98801. this is an annual event organized by richard rawe and his associates.

  richard is the exjw who's story was portrayed in the "good faith" off broadway play.

  if you are like me the word conference conjures feeling associated the word convention.

  I went to the assembly today, fun!

  ok, mike and i went to the circuit assembly today at the mca at the university of maine (where i go to school).

  we made it through the first half and it went faster than i thought.. .

  this is me and my friend jenn (another ex-jw) the night before the assembly at 10:30pm getting drunk before heading out to the bar where we got really drunk and danced and had a great time.

  Oh my goodness how that brought back memories. Thanks so much for sharing. I think it would be just too hysterical to go to a convention or assembly and take pictures of all the bots. How did you keep from getting run out of there. I am sure you were cracking up all the time. And how you went dressed is just priceless. Girl you got balls. LOL LOL

  personally, i consider myself as a "soft-atheist".

  i don't believe in god but i keep an open mind and if someone can come with a real proof of god's existence, i'll take it.

  for now, i consider that believing in god, is just as silly as believing in santa claus.

  lol.

  ok, this probably won't sound like a big deal to some people but i'm pretty chuffed with it .... our washing machine broke earlier in the week, refusing to drain, and we were facing the typical 100+ for someone to come out and fix it.

  it's already broken a couple of times (i'm sure they reset some 'breakdown timer' hidden inside .

  Any man willing to tackle and repair anything around a house is a hero. My sweety is my hero, and I am a much admired wife because I have a husband who can fix anything. I am the envy of all on my street. LOL LOL Yah Howard is just a real superman. Simon you are too.

  Most Delusional Moment as a Jehovah's Witness

  i remember standing there in the evening light of a setting texas sun in the middle of a federal prison with a chilled wind whipping up dust devils around me.

  i was twenty years old and so skinny you didn't need an x-ray to see through me.

  seagoville was a prison filled with lost souls, men with dumpsters for hearts and foul mouths that spat the contents of a poisoned mind into your ears.

  Thanks everyone for your kind comments, concerning the loss of my beloved son Dak. He was an extraordinary kid, and I miss his wise cracking ways. He was so smart and bright and would have been a wonderful addition to society in general if he had lived. I've worked on the blame, its hard though. I feel I could have done more if I hadn't been gripped by fear of this god I worshipped then. What a delusion it all was, and what a price some of us pay to be in it.

  Stepping out of the JW is like stepping out of a twilight zone for me. I know that it is a common experience for those of us coming out. Hopefully not to many of us have suffered damage that is beyond our ability to heal and be better for it. But it is tough isn't it?

  Delusional is exactly how I would describe my committment to a God called Jehovah whom I fell in love with. And all because of a presentation by an organization that did not have my best interest on their heart.

  I had two JW here at my door Saturday. Back a few months ago they had called and I took the magazines, I took them not telling them I am an ex-jw. I needed those magazines for my research and discussion with JW through AJWRB.ORG. No subscriptions anymore. Well they were back yesterday to discuss the book "The bible mans word or God's?" they had left me last time. I actually felt bad for them because I had read and written notes from the book . They were not able to refute or even answer my questions. Really didn't seem to feel the need to try very hard or to think. They were nice, I was nice, I listened. They decided it would be best to just bring me the magazines and let me do the asking if I have any questions. But their total inability to think and reason outside their publications was sad. They were worse than I was when I was in.

  Delusional, their own little world. One of myth and make believe that comes to feel real. I guess so long as they feel happy in that make believe world it is ok, I just hope no one dies because of it. Religion in general is delusional if one believe's it is real?

  For Those Of you Who Still Believe That the Bible Is A Rational Work

  for those of you who still believe that the bible is a rational work.

  just reading the bible as well as other religion's epic writings shows how fantasy, that is converted to myth, and mistaken as history, has done that perfectly.

  the lack of knowledge of science, physics, and human nature shows the stories to be of pure myth time and time again.

  Being in the process of reading Karen Armstrong book "Battle for God" I've learned a lot from a historical perspective. The thing is since the advent of Christianity as an accepted governmental religion they have been trying to turn the writing in to fact when they were written Myth. A way of explaining life on the earth, and God they could not see or touch. There is just no way for stories such as those in the bible to be turned into historically accurate fact and proved scientifically. It was never meant to be anyway. As everyone has said here, that was never the intention of early bible writers to provide something that could be disected scientifically and proved. It is based on Myth and that myth provides people with a sense of hope and salvation from a world they can not understand. An explaination for what they precieve God is all about. I can see the value of it even today in our world with all the scientific knowledge we have. We still need those comforting stories of God caring, and looking after us. I think the thing is that Jews, Christians and Islam want to take it all literally as a statement of fact rather than what it is Mythos.

  I am only now beginning to find value to it. It took me a while though to see it.
