the jehovah's witnesses began to emphasize their trademark house-to-house preaching in 1922.in spite of these efforts, attendance at their yearly memorial dropped from a high of 90,434 in 1925 down to 17,380 in 1928, due to the previous power struggle, the failed predictions for the year 1925, and a number of significant doctrinal changes that alienated those who sided with russell's views.

by 1933, the year 1914 was reinterpreted as the beginning of christ's presence and therefore the start of the "last days" rather than the terminal date in their chronology.

Attending Memorial

well a friend who studying with the witness and i are going to attend a memorial next tuesday night.

this is a congregation i've never been too and they won't know me since i'm not from the area we're attending.

my friend has been studying with the witnesses about a year, i have been giving her the real information on them.

you've got to get this book called "i'm perfect, you're doomed: tales from a jehovah's witness upbringing......by kyria abrahams had my son and i laughing right from the first pages.

its a wonderfully funny book about the struggles of a kid raised in a cult mentality of jehovah's witnesses.

her humor is just great and we love it.

Faithful & Discreet Slave?

i was doing some research on just how we had understood the faithful discreet slave class when we were jw's.

you'll notice it also speaks about the evil slave.

i thought of drunkard rutherford who was president and how he really started beating his fellow slaves.

Literature not for Disf'ed people says Elder.........

i had an interesting encounter today, actually my son and i both.

well my good intentioned ex-husband and father of my son thought he would have the local congregation elders call on us and try to get us back to meetings.

well i had been getting literature from this local elder's wife without her knowing i was ever a jw.
