You had some funny stuff making fun of the Awake magazine. Your wife's jw or ex jw? My spouse is jw and I come here to learn so I can deal with her.

Clever Thieves (Urban Legend material)
by Scully ina colleague of mine related an incident in her neighbourhood that happened recently.. the story begins when a couple decides one weekend afternoon to start up their barbeque to make dinner.
they go out to the back yard, only to realize that their barbeque is no longer there.
they figure it's gone for good, and since it wasn't brand new, nor was it especially valuable and they were in the market for a new one, they didn't bother to report the incident to the police or their insurance company.. a few days go by, and the homeowner is mowing his grass and goes round to the back yard again, and finds his barbeque has been returned.

Ahhh. Guess I like to think I'd be very suspicious.

The story doesn't make sense. Was the barbecue borrower anonymous? You would think it was a neighbor, or that the ticket giver would have identified themselves. Then they would be the prime suspects.

Jehovah's Witnesses as "a people......"
by ScoobySnax inwho out of all you nasty old apostates (tm) will agree with me, that if you take the gb that you dislike so much, and the watchtower that you hate out of the picture, will agree with me that at the end of the day, and on the whole, jw's really are a good bunch of people.
i did my same old rekky last sunday at the gillingham convention, and will have a good look around next sunday at twickenham convention.
i've been in lots of crowds, at stadiums and arenas, but an assembly is something else, it is somehow unique, its somehow different from any other crowds, there is a deep sense of "togetherness" i've not see any where else.

jws seem to be nice people as a whole. However, my jw wife, who appears to be a nice person, is actually a cruel, bitter, judgmental, vindictive bitch toward me. So, until you live with someone, you don't know anything.

Jacko career over?
by Simon init seems like us cd buyers have given their verdict on his behavior.
or maybe it's just his act is just soooo old and stale now?!.

Good music. And he has sex with young girls, not boys. That seems to be more acceptable. Although not as acceptable as older women having sex with young boys.

Odd yes, yes odd (a rambling saga about fitting in)
by joelbear ini am odd.
i have never fit in.
this made it especially torturous to be a jw.

You've had an interesting life joelbear. By choice, I've stayed on the outskirts of groups, and never completely fit in anywhere. No matter what, we're all ultimately alone. Many people can avoid that fact, but I can't, and it keeps me from conforming. When we're on our deathbeds, even if you're surrounded by friends and family, you're alone. Hopefully with no regrets.

His music sucks. Americans would buy it if it was good. R. Kelly stills sells tons despite his bad behavior.
