Is Prince Still a Jehova's Witness?
by Silvia Plath in.
has anyone heard of what happened with prince being a jehova's witness if he still is or not?
and how is he pursuing his music career while doing it?

A year later, in a private ceremony at the Kingdom Hall in Chanhassen, Minnesota, Prince and Mani were baptised into their new faith in front of the 167-strong congregation.
A small bathtub-sized pool was hired for the occasion. Wearing knee-length robes with swimsuits underneath, they became full members of the church by being immersed in the pool.
Hmmm special privilieges even for baptism...I never heard of baptisms at the Kingdom Halls...Why didn't he have to wait for the DC or CA? Oh its a wonder the things money can buy...

I think he might be..Don't remember when it originally aired but on the recent BET Awards...when he received an award...he thanked Jehovah....and later on in the closing performance he did...(he did a really none dublike lil dance move too...made me say..yeah he still got some freakiness in him)...but he said something to the extent of "it's going down..like this system of thangs"....so I'll take a wild guess and say yeah he's still in...

Because the jws are so cloistered they don't know or realize that there are many many many other religious organizations who have conventions. From what I have seen on TBN those conventions are joyiously rocking, quite a difference from the mindnumbing drone of a jw convention
I went to a Megafest (TD Jakes) convention in Atlanta last year....Very fun and very very different from any of the many JW conventions I had to go to...Wish I was going this year to Megafest but I'm stuck at work...Too bad I can't be like good 'ole Kevin...damn you Kevin and your boss....lmao

I miss the "free" food.
by Justice-One infree food.
it used to make the conventions almost bearable.
i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.

Dang, well I was part of one of the "good" lil JW families that made it a point EVERY DAMN ASSembly to be there a whole 3-4 hrs early just to make sandwiches...I admit during that time, I was anxious about it..why I have no clue, but now looking back.......I remember once there was this sister that was on the roast beef line with us..and she picked up these 2 lil pieces of roast beef (barely enough to make a mouthful unless you have a huge mouth) that had fell on the table and loudly said "we have to stop being so wasteful, this amount of roast beef im holding that was gonna be thrown away is enough to make a whole sandwich." I think I personally had one of her sandwiches too...it was literally "where's the beef?"
I guess I'm the only one that liked the lil bagels with cream cheese and jelly....thats all i really remember...cuz i was always making the damn sandwiches...didnt really want them when lunch time rolled around... I never bought tickets unless my parents were standing right there behind me cuz I felt they should have been free for me in the first place..

Morris is from Italian descent and, unlike most of the predominantly childless GB, has raised two sons "in the Troof.
Were they his biological sons or like adopted or something, cuz I could have sworn the anointed are supposed to be "virgins"? Oh wait, maybe the virgin part is spirtual and the 144,000 part ONLY is the literal part. Oh wifey might have been artificially insemitated(sp?) or whatever the hell they call it...

None of the 144,000 lived in Jesus day?
by LovesDubs in.
somewhere in my head i recall someone saying that since there was no proof or record of them being baptised that the so-called (the jws word) "christians" who died in the lion's pit were therefore not of the 144,000!!!
how do the jws justify there not being 144,000 true christians from 33ce to 1900??
-
Sweetp0985
That's another thing I never undersood. That the "christians" of old didn't have that heavenly hope but they were the ones closer to "perfection"....Like Job, Moses, Noah, etc. etc. But the heavenly bound 144,000 that they wish us to believe are going to heaven were chosen from ones that used to celebrate Christmas, smoke, and take blood transfusions in 1914-1975....
i know thats not the only timeframe (1914-1975) but alot of JW's during that time were supposedly of the anointed....

We are all so hurt here, thats why we post, please reveal your pain.
by restrangled inas depressing as this post is, revealing our pain helps others.
many of you have been on here for many years so new people do not understand the thinking, attitude or anger.. i am exhausted by my depression.
i was dfd, and it was reversed .

oh the pain...
With me to have my dad totally ignore because of this religion hurt me the most because I was and always will be daddy's girl. My mom never really did the shunning thing unless she was around certain people. But i cried so many nights because daddy wouldn't talk to me. Once when at my grandmother's house (non-dub) he came in the house and when I spoke he didn't utter a word...I wanted to hate him so bad but couldn't so all I could do was cry about it.
But as of late he's now df'd. I could be mean and remind him of how he treated me, but I'm not. He's getting enough from his so-called friends...but that was the hardest thing for me. Not talking to him.
My other aunts and uncles that are still in I could care less. Good riddance if you ask me.
