I'll look out for that Crumpet
I also have a book by Laurell K. Hamilton, but I haven't read it yet...I heard her vampire series is good too..but I've been too busy to start it yet....
.
i must still be programmed to think like a jw, cause i like to read articles about how bad things are going in the world.
the worse the world conditions become, the more i love to read.

I like reading vampire novels...LA Banks, Anne Rice
I also like reading mystery novels....Mary Higgins Clark, James Patterson, John Grisham, etc.
.
ok, i'll start with myself.
i'm a nut job, hey i bet you never knew that !!!
I'm obsessed with East Indian culture, movies, etc. I'm so very thankful for Netflix because I can watch all the Bollywood I want. No one understands my fascination but I'm addicted.
I'm a cross-stitcher...It's a very tedious hobby but it cures my boredom when I'm waiting for my next Bollywood movie to come in the mail.
im at my dads house at the moment and they have this dog thats 14 years old, and apparently this brand of dog has an average life expectancy of 10, so shes had a good innings.. now im not a dog owner, so its pretty easy for me to say i think they should put the dog down.
my dads wife is very sentimental about the dog.
i would say she was very attached to it, but for all her sentimentality, she has never walked the dog (its always been my dad) and she is not the one who gets up in the night with a mop and bucket - that'd be dad too.
damn thats a scary pic
i once attended a seminar on sleep that was focused on the effects of shift work and how the constantly changing wake/sleep cycles can affect health and well being.
i forget the name of this particular sleep researcher as it was a few years ago and i attend many seminars as a av technician.
but what i learned was very informative and i'll take the opp to share what i remember.
I work shift work myself and at the present time working night shift 12am-12noon...and in the process of moving...talk about time to sleep being screwed up...but this was very helpful....once i get situated with the move I'll probably be able to get more hours of sleep...but my shift constantly switches every month....
My mom used to tell me i jumped and twitched alot in my sleep..i wonder if that is because my sleep time has always been screwed up since high school...im a self-proclaimed night owl so i rarely go to sleep, even on my off days, before 1 or 2 am even when i have to be back up at 6am..
these tips are very helpful tho...
- reduce external stimuli ie. turn off all lights and sound (obvious but true)
- maintain a regular sleep/wake cycle where possible
- go for a good walk before bed to "burn" off excess physical and mental energy
- don't eat anything for 2-3 hours before bed
- try not to nap in the daytime. This "fragments" the sleep cycle and delays the normal night pattern.
i will try some of them..can't do the turn all lights off one tho..yes i'm afraid of the dark..lol...can't sleep in total darkness..and i have the habit of going to sleep with the tv on and putting it on sleep mode so that i can have some type of noise to help me get to sleep..sometimes that backfires because something good will come on and i end up watching it instead of going to sleep.
do you ever go back and read your first ever posts on this board???
i did that this morning after the seeing the last posts/threadkiller threads....i wanted to see how many i actually killed..quite a few if i must say... .
but just seeing what i wrote back then 2004 and what's going on now is funny and sad at the same time...like that ciggy ad says, "you've come a long way baby.

i was reading stories about various ones on the board who are being shunned by loved ones.
i am officially being shunned as of today by my daughter because i refuse to shun her.
she was just disfellowshipped.how do you get past the hurt?
carla that makes sense too cuz even tho she doesn't admit to it..i know my my mom's sisters and their husbands (elders) tell her to limit her contact with me and warn her about talking to me "too much" ...and I don't want her to get into "trouble" on my account so I tell her about she's not supposed to be talking to me at those times too..but SHE always gives me the "we're discussing business" line.
So I'm guessing that may be what choosing life's daughter might be feeling....Even tho I dislike the religion almost to the point of hate, I still wouldn't want my mom to be punished in any way for talking to me...All I ever saw her do was cry every night when she was df'd once..

I don't get it either...although I am the one df'd and my mom never really shunned me but sometimes when she's too pushy with trying to get me to come back I always tell her, "you're not supposed to be talking to me anyway"...but its said in anger...I don't really want her to shun me..
so maybe we'll get a better explanation of the situation..
yep folks this is a fluff topic .
mine is yellow squash with onions.
it's a truely hideous dish.
I'm with some of the others that some of the foods disliked are some that i like, pickled eggs, liver w/onions over grits..mmmmm, brussel sprouts are good to me too..but only if i cook them..
but Nowman actually made my post for me...like she was in my head or something..my step-mom learned the hard way to not try to make me eat peas again..my mother never tried to make me eat them..
Peas. I always gagged. Eventually, my parents stopped forcing me to eat them because I sometime would throw up from them. After a few years, they realized I could not eat peas. To this day, I will not eat peas. Sometimes Chinese fried rice has peas in it, I never will order from that particular Chinese food place again...In fact, when I a call a place I ve never ordered from, I always ask if the rice has peas in it, if they do, I say thank you and hang up, if they don't, they'll get my business.
I mean exactly what I would have said even down to the chinese food...but I can't stand the carrots in it too so I pick out the peas and carrots if the rice has it..I can eat raw carrots like the baby carrots..can eat those like candy and Piccadilly has this carrot souffle that is delicious....but plain ol' cooked carrots is just gross...I can't eat beets either instant pukage....
i had to go home over the weekend to pick up more furniture and such.
