Have Fun Applying Scriptures To The Witnesses/Organization

i was thinking of how the watchtower always seems to be using a scripture and somehow applying it to themselves.

let's take some bible verses or passages and have a little fun with making our own interpetation........example# 1.....matthew 25: 13, "keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour"......"keep on the watch" refers to our continuous reading of the watchtower magazines and watchtower publications.

"you know neither the day or the hour" but the "faithful and discreet slave has insight into such matters and that is why we must always be on the alert and listen to them!.........example # 2.....mt.

Stupid questions require stupid answers

christians always tell us how loving, caring and just god is, how he never ?forgets?

they also claim that god is omnipotent and everything that happens is his will and that it has a ?purpose?.

These Apologists for the deity make me sick.

If anyone else criticises the particular coconut shell they bow down to they shrill "Blasphemy".

I say they are blasphemous themselves, these "ants", these "layers of dust on the scales" saying what this God would be should be ought to be would not be, and then only if it agrees what they think is right.

How is their concept of a god to be held responsible?

Hang them with their own rope: "Wouldst thou prove me unjust to show thyself innocent?"

They twist things around to do just that.

Joseph did not flee because he did not want to commit adultery.

As with Judah, the law had not condemned it yet.

However, the Egyptians and the Jews had very clearly defined property laws. Potiphars wife was property. As Joseph said: "Everything [Potiphar] OWNS he has entrusted to my care." Theft in many cases could entail the death sentence. Joseph was frightened that if he got found out he would be for the chop. Potiphar knew his wife well enough to know she probably 'did' the household staff occasionally; I bet she had complained on other occasions. That's why Joseph was only thrown in jail.

Seen in this light Joseph's integrity is no more noble than the contemporary dub who only does what the WTS says is right because he is afraid of being found out or shunned.

That's my take on it.

Tsunami appeal at the Kingdom Hall

i was both perplexed and unsettled tonight at the hall.. the second last part of the service meeting, the brother started reading a report from hq regarding the tsunami and jw deaths.. indo, there were no jw's living there so no deaths ( other than possible holiday makers ).

phuket, there were no jw's living there so no deaths.

so and so a place, same as above.... some other place ( sorry for forgetting i was almost asleep ), 1 jw death as well as a few inactive jw deaths.. luckily it was then mentioned, all jw's ( except the 1 above plus inactive ) were at the meeting which was on high ground so they didnt die ( implying that being at the meeting saved them ), but their huts were completely distroyed.

New OM Book replacement & Upcoming Elder School

the organized to accomplish our ministry (om book) will be replaced on sunday march 20, 2005 with a book titled organized to do jehovah's will.

this is confidential, so be sure to tell your relatives and friends that are still in!

will there be any updates to the org's procedures, or just a re-hash of old policies?

I will be looking at the questions for baptism.

The last one was brought out in spring so that baptism candidates could go through the new questions before the DC.

They changed the wording of the questions before baptism (to 'spirit directed organisation.')

Wonder if it will now be 'Baptised in the name of [t]his Organisation in association with Jehovah and his side-kick jesus'?

What happens when the faithful and discreet slave die off?

i am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.

where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?

what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?

Watchtower 1995 July 1st "Isreal of God and the Great Crowd"

I remember the study articles in this issue and thought at the time they must be softening us up for new light - the anointed will all be dead before Armageddon.

In the bound volume one statement stands out (It has been removed on the CDrom) I cannot now quote verbatim, but it said the "great crowd would have no reason to fear when the anointed had left the earth as Jehovah would protect them". I said to an elder at the time this could not refer to after Armageddon, as Gods people on earth would have no enemies to be protected from. He looked at me as if I were demonised and said not to "run ahead". I am sure that in the original there were other bits that could be construed as meaning before the big A. But I dont have the printed mags anymore.
