In every other translation it says you must not make CUTTING marks. The custom of some religions at the time was to slash the flesh and pour out blood to their god - obviously what YHWH was thinking about. You also need to plant the influence of ANTIWITNESSING in your kids. Why believing "God" (the WT) will fulfil any current version of truth, is no more likely than all the crap in the past.

Give your kids good science books to read on evolution, the universe, encourage wide ranging interests they really ENJOY, like school sports, and other great weekend activities.

If they realise all this will be throttled out of them by the cult they will run, not walk.

NEVER EVER EVER LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN ALONE WITH A JEHOVAHS WITNESS.They see it as an opportunity to pour their poison into their little heads.

Invite your parents round get together as a family. Let your kids see how callous and cruel witlesses are to their own children. /they will soon realise that the cult is based on fear and intimidation.

Sit in the room with them. Dont let your Mom dictate terms to you in your own home. Absolutely do not agree to drop the kids off, and let her ignore you.

HANDLING CHEMOTHERAPY - Advice anyone?

i have just been diagnosed with colorectal cancer (tuesday).. the consultant told me i am to get a scan to see how far it has spread.. i am going to have surgery to remove it, then chemotherapy with a break in the middle.. strange to say i am more terrified of dying under the anesthetic than anything.

but i have a fear of nausea and vomiting, which chemo caused in all my relatives who have had it.. any advice for coping with this?.

Thank you everybody for your kind words and support. Its a week since I was diagnosed, and it seems like eternity. I was completely blank of feelings, until this weekend, then the anxiety hit. But until I have the scan, I dont know exactly what kind of a ride I am in for.

we get plenty of company men passing through our circuit, often filled with misinformation and lugging around a suitcase of guilt, they bring more guilt to the weak while praising the braggart pioneers and slapping the "righteous over much" elders.

why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?

i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.

For single people the sheer frustration of loneliness, in the midst of meaningless unfulfilling friendships, the constant put downs of not being good enough, the contradtictions, the nagging fear that after all the changes maybe you have wasted your life.

No time or money for anything else - booze is cheap. Drowning your sorrows and disappointments. need I go on?
