I love so many of my american friends - but there are other ways of living that won't send us all into oblivion.

straight away told im not ready for baptism, not with the amount and depth of questions, that ive been warned about these sites and that apostates will do anything to knock jws.

proving its the true religion bec the bible says it will happen (shows me scriptures).

also told it doesnt happen with any other religious group - usually people just quietly leave and make no fuss - further proof that ths is the true religion.. i asked about all the dates where predictions were made, eg 1914, 1975. was told there were some articles loosly talking the 'possibility' of something happening, but the wt never said it definitely would - how could it, these are just ordinary men, not profits.

Annointed: yearly figures

is it my imagination.... or did the numbers of "annointed" partaking in the lords evening meal go up by 5 people this year?.

what explanation can make any sense at all about this?

If those calculations are right, then of the 8000 or so partakers today 5000 are replacements (since there should be around three thousand only - and yes I think god rounds up to the nearest thousand too!)

Extrapolating from this: assuming human nature has not changed since the first century, I assume that per century 5000 people just like us would have to be replaced.

That means that over 20 centuries 5000 X 20 unfaithful ones need replacing. 144 000 - 100 000 means that only 44 000 have proved faithful in 2000 years. (about right for the 2 thirds unfaithful one third faithful of the 3 perfect humans on earth so far)

Which means that only around 2 200 per century are truly anointed.

But wait... That leaves only 44 000 at this critical time so hard todeal with. Expect the numbers of partakers to jump to 100 000 soon.

Especially as the Borg says those with the earthly hope have everlasting life as opposed to eternal for the heavenly class. John 6:54 "He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has EVERLASTING life." In my view that means everyone should take the emblems no matter what their hope, whether living in heaven, or staggering round paradise with baskets overladen with fruit. (bad back won't exist then)

I am sure that my maffs are wrong, standard deviation and best fit to data stuff, but I'm not good at this countin' stuff.

I was thinking that in the early days of the WT the leaders were of Irish catholic,italian descent: (therefore more fun-loving) look at the names.

Gradually more and more were of north european calvinist descent. Look at the names. Franz, Schroeder,Henschel etc. Maybe this is why the borg today is just as merciless in applying its own man-made rules.

i went to take my daughter to school today and right at the end of her line was a jw with her child.

The whole family shunning is from a twisted idea of what loyalty and "important family affairs" means.

Rutherford said that believing children were under no obligation to care for elderly or sick unbelieving parents

The Watchtower a couple of years ago said in a study article (Blondie can help here) "Of course, we owe a debt of loyalty to our BELIEVING relatives..." even then I sat up in surprise at the implication.

I don't care how disrespectful I sound, but if God told me to kill babies and old women I would refuse. I AM NOT AFRAID ANY MORE (Those words are so empowering).

Before I was annihilated from the whirlwind I would reply that as God has such a superior talent for massacres and killing, why doesn't he just do it himself so much better than I could.

I don't want to live in a world where I have killed children in order to obey God, like the Israelites. I'd rather be dead my way than alive God's way if that's what he wants.

many creationist leaning individuals seem to really misunderstand (or refuse to understand) transitional vertebrate fossils and how they are used in evolution theory.

I have always longed to see the fossil dolphin with hoofs on its fins and the legged whale. Where can I get a picture? personally I am convinced the dugong and manatee are intermediate forms on the way to another aquatic mammal, I just hope they get a chance to evolve further.

i went to a funeral this weekend of a much loved older brother.

I laughed when i read that if "you have a drink problem" because of "another problem" Go to Loving Elders.

I knew a man who was an alcoholic to fight his compulsive transvestism. His drinking was seen as the problem, then when he started fighting the booze suicudal depression set in so he confided in one of these loving ones [bad move]

Cut to end of story. This elder on his death bed tells wife to inform other elders in cong of the "dressing up problem" in case of future problems. How loving of him. Of course soon the poor man is being ostracised and turns to the bottle for comfort.
