many of the people on this site say that they are apostates.

but that is not the way i feel about myself.. i am not angry with the "witnesses" or the organisation, i don't feel that i wasted my life.

i just think that i was stupid to believe it for 30 years (well sort of believe it, i did have severe doubts on and off).

Your original post I did not understand, obviously.

Since I am not one of the SOME given as evangelisers, I don't see the point of putting forward my own views as this would only destroy the faith and happiness of those who do truly believe, and I would be wasting the few precious hours left of my day talking to those who have been taught how not to hear a word anyone is saying that may contradict their propaganda.

I will not concede to them any power over my life and happiness by defining myself in their judgmental terms. Judging has been put in the hands of the Son.

No.

They define it as believing in Christ but not accepting ALL the teachings unique to the WTS.

They also define it as a turning away from a belief.

Since they have turned away from so many of the beliefs I was taught as the "Truth" when I was a youngster (30 yrs ago) they are themselves apostate, and why should I follow them down that road to destruction?

What also angers me is that they have so efficiently destroyed so many people's faith in some sort of spirituality, whatever it may be for them. No one can find their own truth, or live in faith in their own way. How many (in or out) are now living hopeless futile lives because they cannot find another meaning to existence other than the WTS??

I saw a picture on the back of the WT mag, showing the young men passing a plate, from which no one had eaten. Suddenly I thought "what is Christ thinking?"

EAT! For God's sake eat.

I Say no matter what the hope, you need to partake. But now I have come so far I just don't have the energy to care or argue one way or the other.

Just get on with life and I soon found I didn't worry about their Franzian crap anymore...

of all the privileges only brothers may have, doing mics seemed to be one of the most tedious.

it was definitely something you could graduate from... but why?

when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.

having read both of ray franz' books and more recently 'the gentile times reconsidered' by c. o jonsson you'd be forgiven for believing that losing the 607 b.c.e date for the destruction of jerusalem would end in disaster for the society.

sorry but i just don't think so.. i'm sure many of the long-time witnesses who know the history of the society would truly have problems but most of the dubs just don't care!

think about it, remember all those dubs you used to hang out with.

Does this mean that if I don't go preaching refreshing words of doubtful credibility I am no longer a christian. Why can't we just be a christian, just as the bible said those believing in Christ were called BY DIVINE PROVIDENCE.

Applying their own criteria to other religions shows how they lack any sense of fair play. Look at all the lapsed catholics in prison. Yet the WTS has regularly trumpeted that the prison population has a disproportionate number of catholics (Not ex or lapsed) Any really faithful catholic knows murder is wrong or whatever is a sin and would avoid it. But if a JDub commits these sorts of thing, the usual response is "they were not really a Witness or they would not have done it."

Since we are all sexual beings, does this mean that a celibate man is no longer male? Since elders can only be male does this mean one can only be an elder if sexually active? When an elders wife dies does he cease to qualify until he does it again with another woman?

Entrapment(?): Bethelite Disfellowshipped for Gluttony

when i was in bethel around 1975,,i was told by a few brothers while eating at my assigned table, that there was a brother there that would eat a lot(more than his fair share) and so they(gb, or higher ups) plotted to get him df'd.

what they did was have the waiters brings all kinds od food to the table and this brother just ate and ate when we had consumed enought they brought him before a committee and df'd him for gluttony and greediness.

is there any one here on this forum that witnessed this??
