  one of the watchtower mantras when i became a jw was that the churches of christendom, aka part of babylon the great, were drying up according to revelation ... and that just a few little old men and ladies were attending her sunday service ... whereas the jw religion was supposed to be the fastest growing religion deep in the time of the end ... .

  here, now for 2001are the statistics, as published by the national council of churches ... so we can see how, 30 years later, christendom (babylon baby) compares to the most holy and pure jehovah witnesses ... .

  I have to reply to Youknow. Yes there is hope - and it's the very hope of the board members here.

  there is hope, in that Isaiah 32:4 says that "the heart itself of those who are overhasty will consider knowledge..." Unfortunately, for you, is that at that point the apostates will be made to shiver...due to Jehovah's awesome judgment.

  You have it backwards again Youknow - another jwism. Peoples' very hearts can make them consider right from wrong, and desist from the bunkum that they have been willing to perform and follow - this is our hope - that they are fortunate.

  It would probably be good for you to shiver in the manner you decree Youknow, but at this stage I think that your mind avoids wrestling with such a tribulation.

  Gov signs NEW Illinois Reporting Law Today

  the illinois legislature passed a new law requiring clergy to report cases of child abuse, neglect, battery, sexual assult, and molestation to the police.

  the law is fairly comprehensive, with one tiny exception, that anything learned in religious "confession" is still exempt.

  while disappointing, this is a step in the right direction.

  and he always wondered why these villagers had kept the ancient things, because they didn't appear to use them - besides, he thought less of the villagers because of the way they lived - they simply shouldn't have had them he thought.

  love your enemies and pray for those that spitefully use you. comforter follow that counsel.

  I know comforter, you think love is all about being 'nice', especially to those who 'deserve' nice things - the 'clean' ones.

  Like the love you're showing now comforter, speaking 'nice' and all the while reveling in evil happening to others. That true jw love.

  Ever had a lolly that was soft on the outside and so hard in the middle that you nearly broke your back tooth on it. I prefer the ones that are hard on the outside and soft in the middle - even the ones that are hard on the outside and all the way through - just not the first type.

  That's not disunity comforter, it's everyday living. As you say, they are dwelling together, but by no threat or coercion, and with all the ups and downs that go with it - in fact, that's what love is about. As a jw you don't know this teaching, as they have convinced you that love and unity means some bizarre mixture of robotism, giving some things to your friends and obeying the boss - that's not life. Life is a part of Love.

  God is Adventure and we're in it - are you taking part in it? Are you getting into it, fearing Him, or are you working your ass off to avoid the fear of Him?

  outstanding !!!

  ... actually, connie was too nice to the jw leaders in her questions ... and i appreciate the two young ex-jw girls who connie interviewed ... they were straight forward, clear, and credible ... and they did a good job making the case ... and kudos to bill bowen for calling the watchtower's statement a bold-faced lie, because that is what it is ... the watchtower society clearly lied as to what they say their policy is, and what has been practiced in real life.

  As I'm posting stuff about scriptures that can be read by passing dubs, I simply wanted to say to the jws - your org has not been revealed such things about the bible - please don't make off and claim or make out you've had any sort of revelations in regard to anything you may read through my posting. I'd hate to hear anything I ever wrote to be reheard through any association with the org.

  Where does the the bible say forgive a pedophile?

  "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men"

  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

  Rather, "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better....."

  And what does it all mean? That person would actually be better off if they had suddenly been so weighed down with sin, that they sank straight down, to those people who are generally considered to live down at the bottom. See prohibition on eating fish without fins and scales - i.e. don't be like those who dwell down in the deep. Better for them then, that this was their fate, than to remain at the surface teaching children to sin. And "from the depths of the sea they may be saved".

  the congregation needs to and will probably work extremely close with law agencies in the future.

  But with contrition? Rather, because of attrition - caught in the act - sorry because of their loss, like Judas and Esau - a loss while trading (traditor) - there's quite a difference. Truly a better outcome for them would have been -- see above.
