  Being afraid

  when an angel from god came with news, the message started with "don't be afraid" because they were from god - no reason to be afraid.

  jws bring the message of "be afraid" and "aren't things all shitty" and "the end of the world is nigh".

  as a jw, if someone told you plainly and firmly "their thoughts of your quest" when you told the gloomy message, how would you react?

  Short doctrine

  can you briefly sum up the teachings of the wtbts?.

  eg "boo" or "god is actually an asshole, this way out" .

  Only one witness?

  just words, no works - people can't establish their word, yet they believe the lie, because they say they have works too.. don't be feeling too diddled - they did say they had works, it's just that eventually you couldn't establish it - the one witness was exposed as false because it cannot be both true and supported by good works - these witnesses don't agree.. bang

  What's with the third person ?

  has everyone noticed that the wtbts are always talking about jws like some kind of anthropological observer, rather than using "we" or "us".

  a quick look at their website and you can see the language.

  there's no "we", it's all "them", so i suppose when they get it wrong again it was "them", not "us".. when confronted with blame they can just hang them out to dry - whoever they are.

  i've just noticed fredhall posting about how the 'end of the world' will catch out the apostates, because he will come as a thief in the night.

  Door to door

  for the newbies and jw lurkers, i 'm posting on this topic again.. "do not go from house to house" (jesus christ).

  the apostles did not go from door to door apart from revisiting their own flock in their homes (see paul).

  going from house to house is the sure way to give what is holy to dogs and swine, who then having been instructed proceed to buy, via their own labour, and then learn to attack others by this, thinking themselves more worthy due to their own effort (see hagar).

  Who knows the names?

  can everyone tell me the names that the wtbts calls people by?

  and particularly anything that is meant to de-scribe others as condemned, such as spiritual fornicators and birdseed.

  why in the world would apostates be called birdseed?.

  i assure you that it is not you, but they themselves.

  they retain the word, but it's not in their heart, so take heart - you were right to reject the doctrine.. "..when they hear, satan comes immediately..".

  who are they?they don't love for better or worsethey came for sex (and unload their seed)if your not dazzled by their appearance, and unreceptive, they can lie - "whatever it takes"the care is in reality superficial, it's really about themthey don't love honourably with or without the "sex"are often concerned with how they appear and are thought ofafter they get their way, if you don't like them; they either don't care and/or may call you namesthey may care enough to do the right thing (marry to please the beast) if the seed takes.
