It'd be good if you rejoined the dubs U.2.K. They need more input on armageddon, I think they're getting slack.

The JW 'bible study' crew surely must be subjected to divine mind block, the amount of time they spend at it: mAn.
Hypocrisy - people just can't cope with hypocrites - but the reality is that it's God who allows someone not to be one. Get a major hypocrite (like it seems can be found in the wtbts) and people don't want to touch them with a forty foot pole.
So how do you tell? There'll be a white appearance (on the outside), and the living flesh will appear (it's in control), and a change in the hair.
An early and definitive detection might require a priestly skill.
Hypocrisy for the spiritual is like leprosy for the flesh - people help, maybe, some, and keep a distance. The one that really makes me chuckle is leprosy of the forehead.

how many poor gullible farmers paid extra for charles russells miracle wheat, only to find out that it performed no better, and more than likely, worse than many other less expensive varieties of wheat?.
how many egyptians used feet and inches to measure the pyramids centuries or millennia before such a system was invented?.
how many witnesses read the stone bible.. how many planets in how many galaxies did god look at before deciding to live on alcyone in the pleiades constellation?.
The bible - they've used the bible, that's why.
People believe that the bible is not from us, and the JWs business is to convince people that it's a history book of facts that includes them as the boss.
Sometimes it works, you just need a woolly sheep.

with all the recent hog wash going on in my life, i can't believe i am even entertaining this notion.
everybody on this board knows how i feel about this path, these beliefs, and here i am thinking, pondering wondering, maybe jehovahs witnesses do have something to offer me, maybe i need their 'close nit' love inside their congregations?
maybe i could see the truth, if i only opened my eyes to it and tried to accept it???
It definitely is.
this is my first post.
i was a witness from 1971- 1976.even though i was able to get out with no trouble (i moved to another town), i have always believed that it was the "truth".
a few months ago, i started viewing jw sites on the internet.
If my Lord is Jesus, what's the argument? To christians in general it's not an issue, aside from the good reverence shown by using "Lord", as was the ancient custom and hopefully the future one also.
By making the argument, JWs have made scope for saying that others are the mislead evil and Jesus is not God, according to God - by a weight of numbers and times sighted thing, there's less times then that the Bible needs actual changes to suit their idea of God, so they can still use biblical scripture as their stated connection with the deity and maintain a following. I imagine that without the use of biblical scripture not many would stay in - they don't seem to use many other connectivities with God.
The name Jehovah is a construction using fill-in letters, and I wonder if it's no mistake that they have been handed this name as it has come more recently, from a Spanish monk I think. I'm so glad that they didn't use Yahweh, it sounds so nice. I've read that the hebrew meaning of 'hovah' is mischief.
"I AM" is the name that informs me and names.
So what is His true name in worship - Jehovah? or Father.

well, i found out yesterday that the circuit that my mother attends will cease to exist as of this summer.
the circuit has existed pretty much since the beginning of time.
due to low attendance, and gradual drying up of all jw's in rural saskatchewan, they are closing one or two congregations every year.
Yeah! Now that's what I needed to hear
I'll pray for your mom.

Woohoo!
in the past i have sometimes felt like i have to be the 'bad guy', so to speak, because i need to lock or delete topics, deactivate people, try and stop fights and such like - basically, telling people off and not being 'nice'.. well, apart from the odd heated debate and harsh word (and disruptive 'visit') i have not really had a great deal to do for the past month or two and it has been very nice - a pleasure to serve.. so ... i thought i should say a 'thank you' instead of a "stop it!
" for once
I'm not even an ex-dub, thanks for having a stranger.

sometime in june i will be put in a situation where i will be one on one with a witness.
(you could say i will be cornered) but i am actually looking forward to this.
this witness thought i was a great person even before i studied, but then after i found out about the truth she believes that i'm being misled by satan so now she is going to talk to me.
Good to see you looking forward to it - no need to be anxious.
Why ask questions? Just tell her how it is.

questions from readers.
in view of jehovah's willing ness to forgive sins by the merit of the ransom sacrifice, why is it necessary for christians to confess to the older men in the congregation?
as can be seen in the case of david and bath-sheba, jehovah forgave david's sin, grave though it was, because of david's genuine repentance.
Some people need to seek a priest because they can't just 'find God', so they confess to God through belief that God is present by the other. Hopefully for them, He is.
I've got to say, I cringed when I read this. "greasing him with oil in the name of Jehovah". Is that a NWT thing? To grease someone around here, is to have a loan of them by paying them off somehow, generally without them knowing it.
They never want to be harsh, even though strong disipline may be warrented
Priests have been assigned to provide forgiveness.
