Evil CO's wives

does anyone remember particularly evil wives of circuit overseers?.

i remember one, a little chinese "lady" known as norma.

absolutely hated kids.

I remember on CO's wife who was pretty nasty. She teamed up with the Super Self Righteous pioneers on her visits. Yeah....she and they were real pals during the visit. And she was very cold towards any attractive young sisters in the congregations...barely civil and the two finger handshake for them. Her husband pretty much deserved her, though. He was a real a**hole to anyone who did not suck up to him & his wife.

Ah, yes....and speaking of nutters, you guys, my grandmother was one of those who spotted demons everywhere. When her father died, she scared me and my siblings pretty badly by angrily throwing lots of valuable antiques into a bonfire (as well as the rest of the contents of the house) because she claimed they were demonized cuz her mom had done a little of the old Irish fortunelling stuff.

The Next Teaching to Fall

while many have had their hopes dashed concerning the change on this "generation " teaching, there is yet another teaching yet to fall very soon.it must and will fall because it connected to the generation doctrine that has already been changed.. the teaching that could shortly cause the governing body a serious problem and could bring about a major change for the vast majority of the rank and file is "the great tribulation".while this teaching has been put off to the " indefinite future"the gb.continues to have a serious problem with it.if the great tribulation fails to occur reasonably soon,the doctrine concerning the earthly hope for the vast majority of jw's.will have proven to have been false.the' great crowd' are those who will have come out of the great tribulation.according to the society those persons began to be identified as present as early as 1932.so the youngest members are now in their 70's or 80's.. again, the time-line is running out!

and has the potential of adversely affecting hundreds of thousands of other witnesses in the not to distant future,as time passes without the fulfilment of their hopes for a new heavens and a new earth.. also, some time ago,there was a watchtower study article, i don't remember which one it was .it spiritualized, armageddon!

psalm 91,especially verse 7.it said that a thousand will fall at your very side and ten thousand at your right hand,applies to those leaving the org.

How do you fill your spiritual need , EWjW's?

since i am free from the chains of the wt and their rules, i am becoming so much more open minded to looking into other forms of spiritulity.

i just read comf's thread about his wicca experience and it was soooo interesting .

i know many on this board have their own way of dealing with their need for spirituality.

Scootegirl, well said! As I was reading your post, I was remembering some of my own experiences and feelings during the beginning of my spiritual journey.

We each have the choice whether or not to/when to/how to embark on the journey. And it is a wonderful thing to have choices now, isn't it? My own spiritual sojourn has thus far been very rewarding...and it is certainly not over yet! Good luck and courage to all who are getting ready to venture forth on a spiritual path!

They Will Betray One Another

i have read the stories of those that have been unceremoniously drummed out of the watchtower, even though they were making an effort to live quietly, without causing "trouble" by telling their friends and relatives of the wt what they really knew about the true history of the jw's.

the wt's claim that they don't disfellowship those that have left the faith, is a vicious lie.

it has been disturbing to me and my wife to hear of such good people being ostracized just because they no longer agree with the wt's interpretation of scripture.

Yes, you make some completely valid points there. The fact that you and your wife have been persecuted and labelled for simply trying to be loving parents despite your children's decision to leave the organization exemplifies the judgmental attitudes that abound within the WT.

Calling people into "judicial" committee meetings and casting people out of the congregations, besides the aforementioned labelling (which usually follows after lots of malicious gossip), all smacks of disobedience to Jesus' command, "Do not judge...." (Mt.7:1). And what about those who are "skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd"? That sure sounds like rank and file JW's and how they have been treated by the modern day Pharisees of the WTBTS. And to think these same people have the temerity to claim they are Christians!

By the way, I think you and your wife are to be commended for giving your children unconditional love rather than cutting them off due to their religious affiliation or lack thereof.

in the call to the legal department at the watchtower did the person representing the watchtower identify himself by name?

Psycho and YouKnow really should be concerned about recorded telephone conversations. Brother and Sister Gossip are gonna find out they are fraternizing with "apostates" on the Web and pretty soon, You Know and Psycho will be recorded over the telephone by elders in their local, friendly, gosh-darn wonderful congregations.

Watchtower dissolves congregations?

i have heard this from jws many times.

they say that when the whole congregation is corrupt it is clearly noticable that jehovah's spirit is not with them.

eventually if the whole congregation is corrupt the gb dissolves the whole congregation.. jws say this as if it were from personal experience.

When I was eleven, my family was in Kansas and my parents decided to heed the call to move "where the need is greater". We moved to a small town called Jetmore (north of Dodge City). We and some other families relocated to serve there.

About a year and a half later, there were no new publishers yet, so they disbanded the congregation. The nearest KH was in Dodge City...an hour drive each way! It was whispered about that the CO said there were too many "goats" and not enough "sheeplike" ones in that territory. Hmmmm...what a nice guy, huh?

JW RAPE

the 16 yr old girl get's raped by a 26 yr old ministerial servant,.

so she goes to the elders about it.. the elders arrange a judicial committe meeting and listen to both sides of the story......... then they go to a room for five minutes and come back, and tell her that they are going to privately reprove both of them.........."furious", she asks what she is being reproved for, and they say "fornication".. they remind both of them to not gossip about it or tell anyone.. because it will bring reproach on jehovahs organization.. the girl, then goes to other elders, and appeals the elders decision, and complains that she got raped!!!

!.....she gets another committe meeting,,,,,they quickly come to the same decision and warn her to keep quiet,,,,,,,she goes to other elders.....they promise to help her...they believe her, ...days go by.........months go by...........she is in a meeting when they announce that brother rapist has been given a part on the assembly.........everyone claps........she goes back to the elders asking them how it is that he just got a part on the assembly, when he just raped her............they start reminding her to be submissive to the lead or they will take action,.....she can't keep quiet........they anounce that she has been reproved.........she starts speaking out against the whole body of elders,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,bingo, she is disfellowshipped for apostacy, and there is no value to her claims at all,,,,,,,,she was just an apostate fornicater, trying to smear a nice brother.....

I was publicly reproved after being raped, because I "asked for it" because I was being "rebellious" by wearing fashionable clothing and reading Vogue magazines. Never mind that there was medical evidence proving that I was viciously hurt by the guy and that it was by NO means a consensual thing. Hmmmmm....I feel I can relate to the opening story, somehow.

That the WT Society thinks this is really a great defense after the damning program on Dateline is so completely laughable to me. What a lame attempt to cover their asses. Does the phrase "too little, too late" spring to anyone's mind?

When do you say enough is enough?

like many of you, dear friends, i have several j.w.

i almost lost myself many many times in trying to hang on to a relationship with my mother, which was always controlled by where my status was in the org.

What you posted brought back some memories for me. When I decided to leave the organization, I called the members of my immediate family and let them know, in no uncertain terms, that I no longer wanted to be a part of it and would not appreciate attempts to bring me back into the fold. As you can imagine, my siblings did not have a positive response to this declaration. My parents were not happy about it either.

I really severed ties back then and I am sure I could have done things in a more diplomatic way. However, eight years later, my brothers have both seriously changed their views and my father has changed a lot of his views as well. None of them are really attending the meetings now and my brothers have been looking at ex-JW sites and finding that they enjoy going there. My mom is still pretty much still entrenched in the borg but I believe that she is beginning to secretly question her beliefs.

I guess what I am saying is...sometimes it is a good thing to make your new stand really clear to JW family members. I never thought, at the time I did it, that my family would ever accept me again. Over time, they have come to accept me the way I am NOW and love me for WHO I am...not dependent on my religious views, standing, etc. Even my mother has learned that we can agree to disagree on some things and just concentrate on the other aspects of life. I limit my time with those family members still in the org.

Anyway, good luck on whatever you decide to do. ;)
