What kind of errors in the Bible?
by TheWonderofYou inthe new testament specialist daniel wallace notes that although there are about 300,000 individual variations of the text of the new testament, this number is very misleading.
most of the differences are completely inconsequential--spelling errors, inverted phrases and the like.
a side by side comparison between the two main text families (the majority text and the modern critical text) shows agreement a full 98% of the time.[18].

According to JW's the name of God himself has been removed from Christendom's bibles.
The most important thing in the bible God's name was changed!
I once asked my mom, if Jehovah can't even keep his own name in the bible how can I trust anything else in there to be correct?

Caleb & Sophia RC badges

What do little kids always want to do?
They want to hang out with or be viewed as bigger kids or adults.
Unbaptized kids get kiddy badges.
Baptized big cool kids get adult mature badges.
It's totally about getting kids to commit to the cult earlier.
If these are not official WTS sanctioned badges, I could easily see WTS
running or allowing an unofficial test program to see what kind of feedback they get.

The Confederate Flag
by Simon inthe latest controversy over the confederate flag just sums up to me the state of dysfunction that exists in american society.. in summary: a white supremacist nutter shoots 9 black people dead in a church.
he's clearly inspired by the messages of others which the confederate flag is often a symbol of.. it seems like a no-brainer to remove it.
not only isn't it removed, it isn't even lowered at all as a mark of respect.. and of course now there are the people who want to defend their right to have it.

SIMON said
No, you are not being patriotic in anyway shape or form for flying it. No, you get no respect because everyone knows that it is a symbol of. People who would rather see the country burn than have anything taken away from them. Is it a republican thing? It seems that they are willing to do that to the country.
No Simon it is not a Republican thing it is a Democratic thing. The Republicans will take it down however just like Abe (Republican) stopped slavery.

Back in the Basement
by LostGeneration inlooks like the faithful jws are back in the basement, the oct 15th wt has this image on page 9. but now the lights have been turned out!
i guess the persecution is really kicking in if the electric company has shut off their electricity, or the jws are really, really paranoid that the government is gonna get them if they have the lights on!.
only one guy is smart enough to use his tablet (far right), the rest of the jws are old school, using a lantern to read their bibles in the dark!

What's with the conductor"s shirt? It looks likes something a progressive rock star would wear.
That lantern gives off a nice square light pattern on the wall.

Guns. Well said Mr President, if only your countrymen had the same courage to consider changing course.
by nicolaou inive had to make statements like this too many times.
communities like this have had to endure tragedies like this too many times.
once again, communities [were harmed] because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no problem getting their hands on a gun.. lets be clear: at some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.

I think cars should also be outlawed .
Do you know how many people die in car accidents?
What if someone decides to drive on a sidewalk full of people?
Cars are bad, bad I tell you !
Golly, we must control everything don't we ?

Great thread.
For me it was the November 1, 1995 Watchtower article.
I still remember looking around at everyone and thinking wtf, no one even cares or understands what just happened.

Jehovah's Witnesses 2015 Regional Convention Saturday PM experience parents shunning children

Why don't they have the child there to share in this wonderful happiness?
Way to go spiritual head, instead of stepping up you stepped back.
On a side note, I find that JW's have a look of relentless constipation on their faces.
Love that these videos are getting out !

Teddy Hero Worship Continues -- Sept 15 Study Edition Bio on Melita Jaracz
by LostGeneration invery weird article, you can read it here if you can tolerate such nonsense:.
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20150915/melita-jaracz-blessing-in-life/.
basically teddy was a super, duper spiritual giant who went undercover behind the iron curtain, sorta james bond like.

Something about the timeline in this story doesn't jive?
In 1955, I wanted to attend the “Triumphant Kingdom” assemblies in New York City, U.S.A., and Nuremberg, Germany.
Ted was at the convention in Nuremberg, Germany, and we spent some time together. A romance blossomed. Following that convention, Ted returned to Australia and I went back to Vancouver, but we kept in touch by letter.
After some five years in Australia, Ted returned to the United States and then came to pioneer in Vancouver. I was happy to see how much my family liked him.
We were married on December 10, 1956.
