its controvertable, so sell your house and stock options and give them to me so you might spend moer time warning others of our loving god's plans to annihilate them on 2031. here you go: .
perhaps they will have new lite soon that the symbolic forty years and forty days in the wildernes was symbollic of 40,400 days because to god a thousand years is like a day so a week is like, therefore which is 110 years after 1914 is sometime in 2024 that they will no longer accept any new annointed claims.
40*365=14600+40=14640days of drinking and being merry (last hurrah for newly annointed ones): .
I'll be 74 and hopefully will have lived a full and happy life. And even if I haven't lived a full and happy life, I couldn't give a rat's arse! However, I like your (TAN) math!

thoughts?
opinions?
experiences?
Hey, go for it! What's the worst that can happen, Jehovah strike you down with a bolt of lightening? I don't think so. I think the worst is getting up on Sunday morning and having to get "presentable". Hey, you just might enjoy it!

noting that britain?s prime minister and americas?
president are both supposed to be actively religious i wonder how big apart there religious outlook plays in the decisions they make.
being non-religious myself i would be keen to see, no influence at all, but the only countries that have put that into practise are the communist ones, and we know what happened there.
Of course politics are influenced by religion, just look at Isreal vs Palestine (the wall reeks of Warsaw Ghetto), al Quada vs USA, even Dubya's "vision" that god wants him in the whitehouse has given him the idea he is the supreme authority...
The Crusades, the Inquisition, the conquest of the new continents and their inhabitants, all for political power and financial wealth in the name of gawd. And during these times (the dark ages and a little more recent) religion and it's "servants" had more power than the monarchies and other political leaders.
Even our "democracy" has it's founding in religious principals. Although, not all religious principals are bad...

i don't know about everyone else but i just want to get these stories of godly/demonic intervention out of my system.
hope it doesn't bore you but some are a good laugh now but i truly believed them and some i still believe.. 1. don't open that cabinet- one day my dear step mother was cleaning the kitchen and needed something out of a cabinet that was rarely used.
there was a plastic cake dish that makes this very audible noise when trying to close it(lil cheap cake from winn dixie).
I've heard many of these before and believe most are hogwash.
About 10 years ago my dad told me of an older sister that used to come up to him after meetings and tell him the angels love him and protect him. She'd tell others similar things, and talk to people who weren't there. Everyone thought she was demonized.
Her non-JW family took her to the doctor, and low and behold she was schizophrenic! After a short time on her meds, she no longer saw nor heard from the angels.
It's interesting that I have several of what would be considered "occult" books, and I've never had a demonic visit, except for throwing up pea soup one night while talking in toungues.....

...this should be interesting!
Pretty boring, sort of like the pod people. Unless they had hidden cameras and caught the reality behind the bland smiles, blank eyes, and bobble heads: The rumour mill, back stabbing, dirty business deals, wife and child abuse, excessive use of legal drugs like alcohol (but NOT tobacco).
There's the Amish go to LA reality show coming out this fall. What would JW's do? Look shocked, agast, blush, and run quoting scripture and shouting "Pagans, Idolators, Fornicators!"
Gawd, they just don't know what they're missing!

hi all,i have been reading the forum avidly for about 6 months, what a great idea it is !
!ive done the careful fade thing for a while and all is good,i have been left alone, albeit with the usual waffle from parents et al....and now ive decided to say hi to all the wonderful people on the site.......hi!!.
i was raised in the t***h since 6 and had the hell that is school etc,the crap job etc,but for the last few years, realizing it was a joke, bettered myself (i think)and am having a blast!!.
Fleeman, er, Fleaman, Welcome!
Wow, I like the style in which you left. Mine wasn't done so consciencely, I just slowly stopped going to meetings, and finally the memorial because I couldn't tolerate the hypocrisy I saw when I move to a new congregation after I got married to a wonderful JW man (who was an abusive alcoholic). (No whine there, just the t***h.)
I was raised JW and left in my early 20's in the late 70's. School was hell for me, too. And i couldn't understand why those not in the t***h, but who believed in J and JC so firmly were so evil. I, too, found out that they weren't. Neither is anyone else, in general.
There are many things we were taught that translate to the outside world that I have found to be good: Treating ALL others as we treated our "brothers" and "sisters"; the ability to speak to anyone out there without (too much) fear; the training to speak to an audience, and to teach. I've used these all successfully in business, and all without even a complete highschool education! (After my sophomore year of HS I had enough education to either become a pioneer, or be a wife. After 2 years of pioneering, I became a wife.)
Enjoy your newfound freedom. It really is awesome. And, again, Welcome!
Hugs on your journey

i rang family services this afternoon.. the woman i spoke to was very helpful and honest.. firstly i told her i had rung because the person that abused my child had been seen by me pushing a toddler in a pram and by a friend of mine tickling and touching children at the meetings.
i expressed how fearful i am for the children in the congo.. she wanted the pedos name, my name, my kid's name etc.
she asked what he did to my kid and when i told her she said he was an abuser..........no kidding!
Amen!
You have done all the right things. Pat yourself on the back. Here, lemme pat you on the back! You've taken your responsiblity as far as you can, and have not taken on the responsibilities of others. It's really tough to know where to draw the line.
Do you have a camera, or even a video camera? If taken in a public place, it's not spying.

i was reading ecclesiastes 1 -3 today(excerpt is from chapter 2)..... and i'm not a bible scholar and dont claim any wisdom... but these scriptures seem to just say you live and you die regardless of who or what you do in life.
its all vanity...... is this the true wisdom of the bible?
that we exsist not by or for any reason.. we just exsist then we die..... end of story?
>> throw it out w yesterday's newspaper <<
Please recycle. Or better yet, don't buy a paper and read someone elses, or go online!
I agreee it does matter on how we live, even if we just die in the end. Personally, I agree with "fry-face's" comments. (I'm sorry, can't remember your handle) . Our interconnection to this earth, and in turn to the universe very real and extremely difficult to fathom.
I prefer The Christ's 3 commandments:
1) Love God (of our understanding)
2) Love our neighbor as we
3) Love ourselves.
If we ever come close to these 3 simple (but not easy) commandments, I believe we will succeed in our lives beyond our wildest dreams.

the wts is in damage control mode.
the september 1st wt shows how paranoid the wts has become.
the 1st study article talks about glorifying god "with one mouth".
30-40 years ago when I was being raised JW, the unified voice was an issue, too.
When I was a pre-teen, one of the worst things my mom said to me was "everything you say and do reflects on your (elder) father"; and I was a good kid. THAT is a tought load for a child to carry. The artcle you quoted reminds me of that.
By thinking and speaking with a "unified voice" not only is out independent thinking suppressed, but our freedom to question - and get solid answers - is squashed.
>>become sheep.<<
There was always the talk about sheep vs. goats. Sheep are easily lead, and they would use the example of a "Judas" goat to lead them.
Personally, I'd rather be a goat.

a song is raging through my brain and i can't remember all the ltrics!
be curteous kind and forgiving.
be gentel and peaceful each day.
I just read the lyrics to my spousal unit, and his reply is:
Well, you just can't get much better advice than that, that is if you're to get advice at all.
