You are only scratching the surface of what religion is, whether there is a letter of the law that has to be abided to, or a spirit of the law that applied to each one individually. Only one person fulfilled the letter of the law and that was to identify who he was. We immerse ourselves in water by prayer and by spirit as an outward sign of submission and dedication to the Father, by the Son and through the holy spirit.

If your not baptized in the name of the father, son and holy spirit. was your baptism official
by goingthruthemotions inmatt 28:19 "go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit,.
i don't ever remember hearing at my baptism nor any other baptism of a jw.
the person giving the baptism talk or person doing the dunking saying that i/we are baptized in the name of the father, son and holy spirit.. so i have come to the conclusion that my/our baptism's are not official.

my DF-ing letter - opinions
by raxxxx into the body of elders in xxxxx.. .
i no longer wish to recognised as one of the jehovah's witnesses due to the fact that i no longer believe that this 'organisation' is truly representing him because :.
i have experienced greater and unconditional love/friendship with the people i am supposed to hate 'worldly people' than i did in this congregation.

State your "epiphany moment " for leaving the WT
by caliber ini have found some powerful reinforcements when people have stated their " epiphany moment "... please share some.. my turning pointing began when i was badly hurt by a person i had always viewed as a literal brother.
i realized that if his.
love was conditional.... if it was the case with him , then how about those i had less affection for and trust in ?.

Well, all of those experienceses are a progession of learning what the truth really is, its too bad that some have to endure so many before it hits them. I was raised a JW, my mother dedicated my live to the borg when I was 18 months old, and beat me into godly submission, I married a pioneer, the best thing that happened to me. Was refused medical twice because I wouldnt take blood, sent home to die,,,you still with me? Got 3 a year sentence for the draft, was taunted as a coward by the elders for not pioneering to avoid the draft, forgot to mention the beatings and stabbing as a child in school. My epiphany was insanity when my mother died. Surviving all that I still continued a faithful servant for fear that the woman I loved would leave me if I didnt maintain my faithfullness. I was wrong...my eyes were truly openned when I realized how afraid those elders were of me and the knowledge I had, mostly learned from my grandfather, anointed, things never written in the WT because it would have caused a falling out in the organization.
So here I am, with so great a crowd of winners, thanks

Two elders are coming to visit at my invitation.
by Wasanelder Once inthe elders have been spreading lies about me to jw friends and they are panicked.
they don't know what to make of it.
i've never given them reason to doubt my faithfulness or to make them think i talk against the organization.

What Was Meant By 'Abstain From Blood'?
by headisspinning ini have always been very hardcore about my aversion to blood and have never even considered the possibility that this was merely a dietary restriction.
i always bought into the analogy of a doctor telling a patient to abstain from alcohol... it wouldn't matter whether this individual drank the alcohol or took it intravenously... it would all be in direct contradiction to the doctor's orders to 'abstain' from alcohol.. or the other analogy is to an apple pie... if you weren't to eat the pie, it would not be okay to separate it out into the main parts (or 'components)... ie.
the flour, the apples, the sugar or the cinnamon... if they were taken from that pie, you were eating the pie.. so maybe you can see where the questions popped up for me.

Like you say "forgiveness is therapeutic" but it starts by forgiving yourself, to know forgiveness empowers you to be able to forgive others, to know yourself enables you to know others faults and how they feel about them. I'm still picking out splinters of the "truth" from my life. Having a fatalist outlook on life had motivated me not to leave anything undone, because I could be dead the next minute, as it was said the borg build a dark blanket around its members.
Ask the question, who was or is the JWs modern day prophet, what have they prophesied and have any come true?
The person your mother was is what you should remember. Her love, not her foolishness.
