this morning i had a 40 min phone conversation with my ex husband because i spoke with my 15 year old son on wednesday about the inaccuracies of the jw belief system he has been raised with by his dad.
obviously ex husband is not happy about this.
the one thing he kept saying is that even if it is wrong it is not a bad way to live your life............what would you say to this?.
Its like that man who went to the hospital with a gangrenous leg and the surgen amupates the wrong leg, then still has to amputate the other, like this man, those who recognize the untruth and say its better than the alternitive...dont have a leg to stand on.

this is kind of a secondary thread to the one i started about my conversation with my mom the other day about the bethel thing with my older brother !
so, my mom starts talking with me about my dad 82, an elder in the congregation for 53 years being drained and exhausted , and stressed as he has no help in his book study he conducts !
as some of you know , my sister, who lives near my parents just had a stroke , and my mom and dad have been having to help her out with her house, feed the cat while she is in physical therapy - and drive down an hour one way to see my sister in physical therapy , a lot to do for them being 80 and 82 !
No better way to die, in WT service or banging on doors, deadication. He wont slow down, sorry.

i'm having trouble processing this.
They dont come to my house and count me and the others that partake there, so their numbers aint squwat.
as a life long self injurer i belong to a couple self help type groups.
one issue that keeps coming up over and over is everyone's dismay over peoples attitude toward them when they are discovered.
i try to help the young ones ignore peoples ignorant remarks but its difficult.

i have a friend who has started the slow fade.
recently, his wife talked about leaving, but she is still hung up on worldly holidays.. this is what he says.... one of the concerns my wife has about leaving "the truth" is that she wants our children to grow up with wholesome examples and association with their peers.
my wife knows jws aren't the only religion to teach their kids to behave morally, but what about the holidays?
She may feel thats if she is leaving one lie, she will have trouble adjusting to another. It what we all have been taught to see and compromise on those ingrained issueses takes time. Be patient, all change happenes on an individual bases.

i have so much crap piled on that i feel like i'm starting to crack, and honestly, as i'm sure many other silentlambs can relate to, i start to get incredibly angry that not only do i have to deal with this sh*t at all, but also that despite my best efforts, conscious efforts, to overcome things, to heal and to move on with a healthy life, i still have times where i feel like it just breaks me.

Theres a lot of interest out there, its more than overcoming what happend to you and many others, its overcoming the indroctrination that its your fault, that the "truth", that dirty little tag they put on you as being unclean, your grandfather doesnt deserve the effort you would put into making him feel the way you do, because he allready does...but he thinks its normal. Forgive yourself, instensify that forgiveness by forgiving him, he is never going to answer to you for his sins.
