let's say your spouse admitted to having sex with animals, you went to the elders and they told you that you were not free to remarry -- but you went ahead, divorced the scumbag, and remarried someone else.

you, of course, got disfellowshipped.

since then, the society reverses its position.

What get me about that statement is: wait for the holy spirit to guide the FDS, the body? or the fingernail portion at Bethel? Less than 1% of the anointed dictate to the rest of the 8000+ in the field, I find those numbers to be out of proportion, there is no imput from the body of Christ, just a slect few are spirit begotten, omg and they have been wrong most of the time. I've seen the door slammed in the face of anointed who went to Bethel with new light, would not be seen, were not granted entery into the most holy of the WT. Now we have great crowd writting the WT, Jehovah switching HIS spirit from the bride to the spectators?

Wonder where these changes in the society are coming form? other sheep, not the shepherd.

NO!!! reversal of oral sex in the late sixties did not auto reinstate, even petitioning the org did not bring instant reinstatement, in some cases where the elders petitioned for reinstatement did it happen sooner, but most followed the standard proceedure and probationary time before you could get back in.

You were guilty by old light but couldnt be reinstated by new light. wtf

1) raise taxes, and not just capital gains.

income taxes will be raised as well.

and if you make more than $200k/yr, you are "rich", and defined as such you will get soaked; thus, you will have little incentive to keep earning what you do now,--the opportunity to make a nice profit will simply not be there....and all of us working stiffs fortunate enough to make over $50 k/ yr, you better hold on to your wallets as well... we are going to pay for the social security bailout.

i had been doing the "wt is a cult thing" with the wife for three months, while looking for insight on jwd, and a few of you wisely suggested that i just back off before i lose my wife.

didn't think much of it at first, but i relunctantly heeded the advice.

well as soon as i did, the flds scandal followed by the other cult guy showed up, and then her favorite show (law & order) did 2 cult like storylines that we watched together.

i was just looking through the june 15 study wt and on page 9 at the bottem of paragraph 10 it says.... additional "disgusting things" include acts of pedophilia and other forms of sexual immorality committed by clergymen and tolerated by the church authorities.

is it any wonder that jehovah god will soon rid this earth of false religion?.

always a facinating subject!.

i would love some clarification - i understand how russel was the first president and was calling himself and his followers bible students - was judge rutherford also calling himself a bible student?

You dont wrap your brain around craziness. It wraps around you. Actually Russels father was the first pres, he bought more share of stock in the org. He was disguntled with the obvious lies of religion so he picked up the adventists ideas and ran with them.

i know of several of my friends who have been disfellowshipped for years and see no need to come back.

they tell me the dont miss the meetings at all.

one of the main reasons they dont come back is because of the way they were treated before they were df.
