  WTS Idea of "Prophecy" – Do You Find This Ridiculous???

  the wts view is that we don't understand bible prophecy until after it is fulfilled.

  thus their excuse for mis-understanding what was going to happen in 1876, 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, etc.

  How many will have forgotten 1914 by 2014, how many little changes will be made along the way so that the over all picture will be changed to accomodate the times.

  Jehovah does not work on a punishment reward system, it's all on a promise, You have it ALL now, no one has been to the grave and back to tell you what is in the here after.

  There has been a vast amount of study to determine who goes to heaven. There is no "Great Crowd" now, they come out of the great tribulation and stand before the throne of God in heaven. Everyones "great tribulation" happenes when they die, so it is personal and if its personal, what are you going to do with it now?

  How does the GB convince another to become "Anointed" ?

  this question from another thread, why is the # for annointed still in the 8,000's?

  made me wonder if this had been asked before.. the newest members of the governing body were not always anointed.

  The very idea that the GB anoints or incourages anyone to "reach out" for that is ludicrous , blasphemies. If any one has to ask are you, or how do you know, then they are not.

  Why 8000 and counting? "Many are called, but few are choosen", the choosing works from both sides, one can be choosen but refusr the anointing.

  One of the anointed has three witnesses that bear testimony to their anointing, witnessed by water, blood and spirit, one does not pick up that anointing without being held accountable for the missuse of Christ blood.

  Only God knows how many of the 100s of thousands that have recieved anointing since Christ time accpeted the heavenly calling and if the number is even literal.

  Abother thing IF the lords evening meal was conducted to day the way it was then, it would be held in private, with only the apostles there. But that is not the way is was comanded to be done. ALL peoples who recieve the blessings from Christ blood and flesh are invited to partake as a rememberence, the only warning was not to partake unworthly.

  i came here expecting to find a range of jw's and check out their beliefs and thinking.

  however, what i find is largely disaffected or ex jw's and atheists etc.

  with hindsight i am not that surprised either!

  i was just on facebook, and somone sent me a pm saying they knew me from school.

  so anyway i sent a reply saying how are you?

  etc.. she then sent me another message to say how she was doing and then finished it with 'am i remembering correctly you're are in the truth?'.

  You might say that you have been inactive because there are some nagging questions that you can get resolved by the org. See if she askes, let her open the door to the conversation, you may be able to read what her interest or intentions are.

  left 16yrs ago n still have issues and confidence probs,

  ileft "the truth" 16yrs ago and still cant move on in some areas of my life, i have no family now as they stopped talking to me and have never relented.this has left me with serious problems with needing aproval from people in my life.i have never stopped trying to win my fathers aproval and no i,l never have it unless i go back(which would never happen)jus wondered if any1 else has similar hangups, n if you do, how do i deal with it n move on.

  We are all being so nice here...Its called brain washing, they put that drip, drip , drip on your forhead till your conditioned to need it, and when you trun it off, what happens? You can live without it. It has created and filled your life and when its gone it seems like there is nothing left and everyone asks,"so where will I go?". So look at it this way, youve cleaned house and its empty, ready to be fill with new things, things you like and can have fun with and grow with. You got out of the mess, that took a lot of strength, believe it or not that was the hard part, Find out who you are and what you need out of life and get truckin on your new life.

  yes kids, im 40 years old, and scared to death!

  i signed up for my classes for medical transcription, to find out i have to take the accuplacer test, just to see if im smart enough to be there!

  come on, i havent been in school for 22 years, and im suppose to remember algebra?

  i recall i was in service with ken little, the canadian branch committee overseer, and he took the first door.

  the magazines were talking about nuclear war and its impending disaster.

  so ken little introduces himself and says "good morning sir,did you know that every minute they spend millions of dollars on the manufacturing of weapons......" the homeowner looks straight at him and says "yeah?
