what i mean is according to the society, there are a number of persons that are "technically" "inactive" yet are viewed as jws still.
i'm sure that i'm viewed as a witness still because i am not df'd or disassociated.....what about you??

Which reminds me, I really ought to dissassociate myself.
I'm sure that somewhere along the line I will get the satisfaction of confronting an elder.
I just wish that some of the few wholesome decent people that I used to be close to during my time as a JW would leave so that I can be friends with them again. Oh well, all will be righted in the new order.

very early this morning i was driving to work.
i live out in the country so usually it's rare to see anyone walking down the road esp.
at 6:30 in the morning.
I had a not completly dissimilar thing happen to me.
I work in pharmacy retail, and I had an Elder of the congregation that I used to attend. I was doing my job, being polite, saying "hello" smiling, you got the picture.
So when I had to serve him, not a word. He wouldn't even look at me, just put his stuff on the counter, paid, grunted and left.
Hmm, I had forgotten how insular their little gang can be.

from what i can see, it's nearly impossible to reason with a witness, even if you might consider them somewhat intelligent.
No, it is NOT possible.
When I was trying to leave (my husband was also a JW), when I did next to enforced bible study with him. If I disagreed with him over a something scriputal the volume went up, and he yelled the same thing over and over, untill I gave him the "Oh I get it" response.
The "truth" cost me my husband, my friends and most of my family. Oh yuh, it did set me free.
