All christians are born again when they beleive. The problem with some penticostals is that to them born again is speaking is toungs to be saved . Some penticostals have hijacked the born again doctrine in this way.

Is Christmas for Pagans?

given that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin, is christmas truly for pagans?.

i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.

would any true pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?.

I /dont have any Jewish blood in my veins so doesnt that make me a pagan? So yea christmas is for pagans. The jews celebrate hanooka about this time dont they?

Can I date a JW

this is troubling me.

i started dating a girl and the relationship lasted for a little while.

she then broke things off claiming she was in violation of her beliefs, the jw this and that, and how she'd "lose everything" if she was caught dating me.

I dated a JW girl for a while in my 20s. She was very strict about her being right and me being mistaken as Im an SDA. I would go to the Kingdom Hall with her but she wouldnt go to services at the SDA church not even once. She did come with me to church functions at the SDAs and liked them. Her grandfather is of the annointed and is probably in heaven now, but most of her family is very devout. Barry

Amarillo Texas

we went through amarillo a few years ago on our way to colorado, and i absolutely loved the area, and i have wanted to go back ever since.

just outside of town heading north towards dalhart the lanscape starts to take on the feel of the old west.

there are canyons, mesas, and buttes.

i agree with all.

before i become a mormon i study jw and when i read about the 144.00 i remeber asking the witness if i would be one of them.. they never replid they said they would get back to me on that one but they never did.

so what i have said is not to make it look like i dislike jws but just that i disagree with da doctrine......love ya mormon 4 life.

The Mormons have a great Choir my Dad had the recording of it and played it every week before going to church. My dad isnt Mormon.

Anyone know about the martial arts?

my 11 year-old is getting picked on at school.

he is not cut out for competitive sports and not interested.

i've pushed my jw mindset aside and am considering letting him take a martial arts class (gasp).

We had a problem with my boy getting bullied and sent him off to do karate. He didnt like it much so we just bougt a punching bag to learn to punch hard. A few incidents later has proven to us he can hold his own now. Just teach him to punch hard alll that tecknical stuff is not necessary unless e is realy interested.

The founder of the JWs pastor Russell had contact with second Adventists. These were Adventists who made further dates for the second comming such as 1875. Many of their idears were copied by Russsell.

I would like to comment on some important isues on that link.

In debateing SDA theology it should be said from the outset the SDA church is not unified on some important issues and from the link you gave this factor is not made clear.

Christ had a sinful human nature. This is a herecy and is not taught by the SDA church. A large porton of the church beleives it, they are called by various names CBs or Concerned bretherine or conservatives and sometimes they are called catholic adventists because of there theology. The theology that goes with Christ haveing a sinful human nature is far reaching and as a kid I have memories of divided churches and vigorous arguements that revolved around the same arguements of the reformation.

The investigative Judgement. Again is a herecy and is beleived by most of the church in a watered down version by most. This is the doctrine invented to explain 1844 but many of us reject it totally. Our theologins dont beleive this doctrine and never write in its support in the general christian community which shows where they stand.

Lastly when Barnhouse and Martin studied SDAism in the late 50s they determined SDA is a christian demomination with some hererodox beleifs not a cult.

Personally I beleive SDA as do most religions have some cultic doctrine humans just cant help themselves they have to be one better than the next person.
