The truth is AD31 was the end of the world legally and christ could have come at any time the new or old testaments nowere envisage two thousand years into the future.SDAs have battled with the very same issues and the better theologins amonst them have all come to the same conclusions.

Speaking to an Elder tomarrow, I'm almost free!!!!!!!
by drew sagan inmajor developments in my world, just wanted to let you all know about it.
i'm meeting with the elder tomarrow afternoon.
i'm going to stick heavy to the watchtowers interpretation of matthew 24 and how it is unbalanced, sensationalized and out of touch with any historical evidence or respect for the bible.

The truth is not pecular to the JWs it is used in the SDAs and some other churches. It is true that most of the expressions here are unique to JWs. Barry

Are "Born-Again Christians" a Cult?
by booker-t ini know alot of people might be offended by this question but i think it is a good question to ask.
born-agains are always pointing the cult finger at jw's, mormons, moonies, 7-day adventists, oneness pentacostals, armstrong, etc; but could they themselves be a cult?
as the old saying goes "it takes one to know one"

All christians are born again but there is some who call themselves born again who beleive they are born again when they receive the holy spirit and speak in toungs . They use what is reffered to as a gift in scripture to be a requirement for salvation. This is where they err and this is the group that is cultic because of its departure from the fundamentals of the christian religion reguarding salvation and also there exclusivity.

How do JW know they have the Truth?
by Noggin inbreif background: i am an ex mormon.
that church preaches that through powerful feelings sent by god, one can know the truth of the book of mormon.
highly reliable, right?

The mormons do make a big thing about feelings. Unless you study with them you may not know whereas with the JWs its more about how doctrine is incorrect in the churches and we are right .

What are your reasons for not joining another religion?
by MARTINLEYSHON ini am going to start this debate of by saying that those of us who were raised in the so called truth, and i being one of them, can only come to terms with our past by accepting that our parents infected our minds like a virus infects a computer.
we wouldn't categorise children according to their parents' political stance, since they are too young to make up their minds about such matters.
but they (jw) segregate them from the world.

Is dedication practiced in the JW religion
by barry in.
for those of us that have had limited access to jw religion is dedication practiced.. in churches i have been involved in that dont practice infant baptisim it is replaced by dedication where the parents join with the minister at the front of the church and a prayer is offered to god on behalf of the child.. i just wondered if there is anything similar in the jws

Thanks people for that during my short stint with the witnesses i never saw it a at the kingdom hall and i just wasnt sure .The scriptural reason used is when Samuel was dedicated to the lord and is probably in some way a replacement of infant baptism.
Just dont say that to the Baptists or the Adventists they may be offended.
