I dont have a problem with the US prison in Cuba. Terrorism is the worst crime imaginable and I dont have a problem with tortureing terrorists either if it gets the correct results and saves lives.

I agree with you iron rod this Iranian is basicly a savage but Im not even sure if that is teh right word to use. When captain cook went on his journey of discovery he reffered to th enoble savage he had respect for the people he discovered even though they were primitave.

You have changed my opinions in some ways even though we may not agree on every detail. "Youre summary of an islamic state has in it some excellent ideals. The part about not taxing companies remindes me of Liectenstine where they invited profitable companies in, the companies didnt pay taxes and as a result the people there benefited by haveing the highest income in europe.
Just about suicide bombers I saw a documentry about this and during the Iran Irak war a young Iranian soldier bravely placed a bomb with a short fuse under a tank of the superiour attacking Irakie army. Because he was blown to bits some people saw it as a suicide mission but many saw it as doing a necessary job and the thought of suicide was never entertained.
I hope to visit youre ideal state and if I dont maybe my kids will.

Merry, In our society the government doesnt discriminate as to what religion a person chooses but from the verses quoted by you Islam would be the state religion. This position is against the right of individuals to choose there own religion, and and against the principle christians have to preach the gospel to the world. A government based religion allways results in discrimination and persecution. As people here have said before where are the churches in Saudi Arabia. Even the symble of the cross is outlawed there.
Admittedly these passages are toned down from the more extremist ones but maybe the Quaran can be over time interpreted in a more reasoned way.
Merry I would just feel safer if you want a non christian religion why not choose Budism they are the most peacefull of religions here is Australia we have more Budists than muslims but we hardely know they are there.

- I would agree with you Koran 47.4 applies to this.
- In the koran verse 5,33-34 The context is the punishment of prisoners of war and is stated they must be crucified or have their hands and feet chopped of on opposite sides, This is obviously reffering to prisoners of war after they are captured, and is not only a war crime but equals the savagery of the worst of the worst.
- Whatever happened at abu grab prison was dealt with through the rule of law and any claimes should be considered with the evidence presented for and against in a court of law not through islamic web sites. The people were tried in court if I remember correctly.
- What court of law would convict muslims who carry out the words of the koran 5,33-34?
- I see the muslim world as the agressor and us unbeleivers can be set apon simply because we dont share the same faith.
- Doesnt the koran claim the trinity is made up of the father son and mary. If the koran is so accurate why would it say that? You might be able to help here Merry. The trinity has allways been father son and holy spirit from the earliest times.

I would agree the koran is more in keeping with the old mosaic law of the old testament.
As for christians we are not under the old way of a written law but under the new way of the spirit.
Again the verses show Islam to be a viscous and unforgiving religion. Anyone who would crucify and mutilate prisoners of war would be tried as a war criminal in todays courts.
And yes Merry this conduct is far worse than civilised countries operate on the whole and any normal person would and should be horrified. Even in abio grabe prison the American soilders only humiliated there prisoners by putting womens panties on there head and haveing women soilders lead them around. Isnt that terrible crime. They think of women as worth nothing, that was there real problem. Some men in the west would love a pair of womens nickers to do weird things to.Or to be led around like a dog and they even pay good money for the privilage.
What right has the muslim world to judge us anyway i dont have any reguard for there laws or opinions.

Merry you are very brave comming here and I beleive you are a very likeable person reguardless of our differences. May I say I had a muslim friend I also had great affection for.
Abaddin I thank you for youre posts and have to agree with you in many areas. One point you said on youre first post here is something like you can see Islam and christianity as different in nature if you like but I would like to see you dismiss the points of similarity with our own society.
In this area I would like to point out that the attitude I get from many muslim people and from a thread earlier by Merry that there is no negotiation with the Islamic law of god what is written in the Quran.
The new testament is different my muslim friend who read the new testament made the comment ' its only a book of stories'. Islam tells me what to do in all situations . When to go to war, what punishments to administer, how to worship.
The position of the new testament in reguard to the law is that it is nailed to the cross of christ.Galations3-23 says Before this faith came we were held prisoners by the law locked up until faith should be revealed . so the law was put in charge of us to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come we are no longer under the supervision of the law. Galations 4 sSays What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child , he is no different from a slave although he owns the whole estate. He is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. so also when we were children we were in slavery under the basic principles of the world. But when the time had fully come God sent his Son born of a women born under the law to redeem those under the law that we might receive the full rights as sons.
Abaddon you used the ilistration of slavery to the Islamics law but there are many other examples of a change from the rule of the law in the new testament.m just trying to say here with the new testament there is a way out so the death penality for not wearing tassels or even the punishment stoning someone just doesnt exist for christians as when the women who commited adultry and was brought to jesus found.
Merry are the punishments written in the quran still directly from gabriel and given to the prophet still valid. Other writings about the sharia law may informative but are these barbaric laws valid and if they are we have a problem. i say mine is english with an admixture of german (before the nazis ever existed, no need to go on about that) northern french and italian from venice.
i look northern european and feel close to that part of the world with family tradition being roman catholic.
