How "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?
by JH ini was just wondering how old can a person live.
my grandmother lived up to 97, almost 98. .
those born in 1914 are 92 years old and some are still alive.. i guess that no one lived over 120 years since the flood.. how "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

Are fireworks legal where you live?
by free2beme inwe went out and bought about $100 worth for tonight and are going to have fun.
i know that in many places they are not legal, as i used to live in california and they were a major "no no" unless done by a professional presentation.
here they are legal, as long as they are not something that leaves the ground or launches.

by Mr Ben inthis one really freaked me out.
i was so brainwashed at the time i found a way to justify it.
i think i?ve been repressing my anger about this and now i need to vent.

What an unhealthy lot you JWs are dying at church like that. Ive only witnessed one incident when an elderly lady took a heart turn and the sermon was immediately stopped the ambulance was called but the dear sister recovered. This same sister always claimed she had visions from God would tell the minister or others in charge about the visions but no one told me what the visions were all about.

"Hell-fire/lake of fire" teachers, Is Jehovah going to "burn"unsaved babies
by booker-t ini was recently discussing this topic with my "pentacostal" fire and brimstone preaching granduncle.
he said that alot of christians try to be "politically correct" and wiggle out of this question for fear of "turning" people away.
he said that most born-again christians that believe in hell fire do believe that jehovah is going to torment babies in hell if their parents have not accepted jesus as their lord and savior.

I beleive a God of love has to demonstrate justice because if people exist on other planets and the whole of heaven will be watching to see Gods justice in the judgement. If there isnt justice then God is no better than Satan. In the judgement the owness is on God. I have a problem with an eternal hell myself as I havent been brought up to beleive in a everlasting hell. -

JW facts to answer youre question about being a high control group the situation is like this. There isnt the same control over people in the SDAs. In a typical church there may be a large group that have their own meetings on a tuesday night but faithfully go to church on the weekend and pay a tithe [ 10% of their income to the church]. they may call themselves "The Concerned Bretherine". Their may be still another group who beleive differently in some areas to the first group who also have their own meetings and are more concerned with the protestant doctrine of " righteousness by faith". Their may be a group including the minister that are what we might call liberals.
The first group may want to control the church but cant because they havent got the numbers in fact if they did they would make the church into something that resembles the WT society. Overall there is usually a sort of balance where everyones opinion can be heard. Something the way the rest of society has people of different but hopfully everyone contributes.
With the diversity there is no way to have the sort of control the WT society has if the things I read here are correct.
Often when new SDA publications and books are published they are claimed by one group or the other to be hericy. This happened when Questions on Doctrine was printed in the 50S

Gday Restrangled, Isnt Florida a largely retirement area? That would explain the large number of churches their. All that healthfull liveing means SDAs live longer and more healthy lives than the general population. Off course the SDAs that dont practice health reform have the same ailments as the general population.

Ive never heard about the ban on immunision thing SDAs run many hospitals around the world and dont refuse any medical procedures. A few small Adventist groups wear old fashioned cloths like the Amish but most live in the modern world . Adventists arent as united as the JWs and there are many small sub groups with strange idears.
