I beleive that in the Australian constitution written about 100 years ago it gives men permission to beat their wives but not more than ones a week and not with a stick bigger than their little finger. Of course this behavour is now considered in prehistoric terms by todays generation.

i knew i wanted to go to church but which one i really didn't know yet.. two years later, i think i have made up my mind: presbyterian.. anyone have anything they want to share?

In My schooldays we had scripture classes every wednesdays and most times I spent that time with the Presbyterians and sometimes with the Anglicans I found both OK.

a saudi court sentenced a woman who had been gang raped to six months in jail and 200 lashes more than doubling her initial penalty for being in the car of a man who was not a relative, a newspaper reported thursday.. the decision by the qatif general court came in a case that had sparked rare debate about the kingdom's justice system when it surfaced more than a year ago.. in its decision wednesday, the court also roughly doubled prison sentences for the seven men convicted of raping the 19-year-old woman, the arab news reported on its english-language web site.. according to arab news, the court said the woman's punishment was increased because of "her attempt to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media.".
she had initially been sentenced to 90 lashes after being convicting her of violating saudi's rigid laws on segregation of the sexes.. under saudi arabia's interpretation of islamic sharia law, women are not allowed in public in the company of men other than their male relatives.. the initial sentences for the men convicted of the gang rape ranged from 10 months to five years in prison.

The Pakistarnie law is exactly the same women their have to leave the country or put up with their tormentor. One women complained to police and the police beleived she was a loose women so they all raped her as well. Great laws arent they.

I dont have a problem with torture if it gets good results and with some personality types it does. Himbalie was tortured and afterward they couldnt shut him up with quality information.
I just wish Bush and others would stop being so wimpish and admit they do torture. If they dont they in my opinion are not doing there job properly.
Islamic terrorists cant be persuaded with money, power or any of the usual carrots Bin Laden is a complete fanatic and to him the terrorism will only stop on the day of judgement. Nothing to him and al Quadia matters except murdering the infidels.
I had a muslim mate here in Australia to him fighting for god was the only thing that mattered and to him atomic weapons to blow up the west wernt a problem either. He explained these attitudes to us if he were to follow his religion correctly.
This is very scarey and to argue wheather it is moral to torture when information may be extracted out of people when they may know some information about a bomb that may have atomic material to kill ordinary people for years to come and may make areas uninhabitable.
I say it is immoral not to torture.

Ive never been a jw but I come here for two reasons.
My first wife allmost became a jw soon after we were married and I studied with the jws too.
My own religion the SDAs has a large group called the concerned bretherine which in some ways remind me of JW cultic attitudes. Some SDAs also are Arian like the JWs
