The Great Disappointment of 1844
by barry inbeing an adventist on this board i thought some of you might like to read this 1844 is often reffered as the great dissapointement to adventists until now.. it was autumn.
roadside aspens and hickories were already lean and spiky.
leaves lay in the waggon ruts, and grass in the field was still damp late in the afternoon.. this field was at phoenixville, on the south bankof the schuylkill.

Adventism and the year day principle
by barry inafter reading the excellent post by farkel i thought i may be able to contribute.. this principle [year day] is held as a biblical principle by adventists, jehovah's witnesses and the worldwide church of god.
it is also rejected by most adventists scholars also administraters and members.. the nineth chapter of daniel is used by some to try to prove the existance of the [year day] as it is clamed that it foretells the comming of the messiah.
so is the year day necessary here?

Interfaith at the Kingdom Hall
by barry insome of you know me now and i just thought you might like to know how i got to know jehovahs witnesses and whats an sda bloke doing on a jw board.
well it all started in the mid 80s when i got to be friends with a jw bloke who was working bricklaying for my dad invited me to the memorial.
i said i would go but i felt i would be happier going with someone else that i knew better to go with me there as i didnt quite know what to expect there.

by barry inthe jewish people do not recognize jesus as their saviour.. the protestants do not recognize the pope as the leader of the church.. the jws dont recognize that any other religion would be approved by god.
the southern baptists do not recognize each other in a liquor store.

the minister protested; but that was the only way i could have come to services.

The Real origin of the 1914 Doctrine
by barry ini am a baptised seventh day adventist and ive had studies for about 6mths with a very nice jw lady.
ive learnt about the wt teachings and attended the kh and the memorial.
n there are some similarities with the adventist and jw teachings such as baptism by imersion, the state of the dead,some adventists dont vote and some adventists beleive with the wt society in the arian doctrine that jesus is a created being and the holy spirit is a force but the vast majority beleive the trinity doctrine.
