just wondering, my jw husband attended a funeral at a catholic church with me, and i thought perhaps this was frowned upon?

have any of you former jw's ever gone to any service in a church before?

it totally shocked me that he went with me.. thanks-.

Hi all. Been a while since I've been here. Just wondering, my JW husband attended a funeral at a catholic church with me, and I thought perhaps this was frowned upon? Have any of you former JW's ever gone to ANY service in a CHURCH before? It totally shocked me that he went with me.

More than beads and boobs

funny i keep seeing so many references to the beads and the boobs, i guess i never realized how much about new orleans people dont consider.

there is so much culture there the normal person is in awe at just the surface.

My ex-husband's new wife is from the NO area, and her family s all safe, they all left the area. I've never been there but from your desciptions it sounds beautiful, and hostpitable.

My husband's comment on the hurricane looters.

all he said as we watched a little of it last night, is "and that's in the heart of the 'bible belt' of america".......... to me it was a put down of the south, and completely devoid of any understanding.

all i said was: "these people down there have nothing to begin with".

as in another thread, i cannot believe my eyes when i see these thugs are terrorizing hosptials, rescue efforts, etc.

What can be recovered from the rettal stores anyway, really? But the people firing at rescue efforts, stealing hospital transport vehicles, etc.? Evacuating hopsitals because of fears for safety? Yikes...........

i actually saw two people put money in at last weekend's convention.

i saw a boy who put in 5 bucks, and my husband, who put in a twenty!!

Anyone know how much they actually do collect on average at one of those conventions (6,000 or so attended)? There was no one else I saw even close to the boxes except the attendants.....

Just seems odd to shout any name from the bible, or any other book, in such a way. "Moses" !! "Esther"!! "Job"!!!

He also says what the hob (in place of "hell"), and occasionally says damn, too. Maybe I should call his elder friend, he could be put on reproof, huh? Or because I'm worldly it probably wouldn't count as offense?
