When I was 12, just after being babtized in the Church of Christ, my grandmother (a JW) took me to "the memorial". I thought she was going to die when I took the emblems just as I did every Sunday at my church.
It's strange, not being a witness, to realize the JW's don't think they are part of the New Covenant. If, when babtized, one is not babtized into the new covenant then what are you babtized into?
I can not find, in the bible, where people are babtized into two different forms of salvation.

PLEASE HELP ME!
by UNCLEAR inmy husband and i for the first time had an honest discussion regarding jw doctrines, he believes in the flawlessness of the society, so he is not easy to talk to.
he did agree however that if 607 is not correct that the society has it all wrong.
well to say the least that was an interesting turn of events.

The WTS taught that 1874 was the second coming until 1930. In 1954 they tried to say that they had always taught 1914 as the second coming, but that is a lie.
The time of the Lord’s second presence dates from 1874...
(The Harp of God 1921 p. 231)
The Scriptures show that the second presence (of the Lord) was due in 1874... This proof shows that the Lord has been present since 1874...
(WT March 1, 1923 p. 67)
Surely there is not the slightest room for doubt that in the mind of a truly consecrated child of God that the Lord Jesus Christ is present and has been since 1874.
(WT January 1, 1924 p. 5)
The second coming of the Lord therefore began in 1874...
(Creation 1927 pp. 289, 291, 297, 298, 318)
The Scriptural proof is that the second presence of the Lord Jesus Christ began in 1874 A.D.
(Prophecy 1929 p. 65)
Then,
“Jesus has been present since 1914” The Golden Age magazine (1930 p.503)
Later the WTS tried to say 1914 was always the date for Christ's return,
Why, then, do the nations not realize and accept the approach of this climax of judgment? It is because they have not heeded the world wide advertising of Christ’s return and his second Presence. Since long before World War I Jehovah’s witnesses pointed to 1914 as the time for this great event to occur.
(WT 1954 June 15 p. 370)
This is a lie. -

5 Holy spirit still operates in very lofty ways. It guides and directs Jehovah's heavenly organization. (Ezekiel 1:20, 21) WT 1992 2/1
Servants in the congregations are not such because some man has selected them. It is not the circuit servant or the congregation committee that determines who will oversee the congregation of God. It is Jehovah's holy spirit that must operate to appoint them as overseers. WT 1957 6/15
True shepherds recognize that during these last days, Jesus has appointed his faithful and discreet slave over all his belongings and that holy spirit has directed this slave in appointing elders for the shepherding of the sheep. (Matthew 24:3, 47; Acts 20:28) Hence, being theocratic involves having a deep respect for this slave, for the organizational arrangements that the slave has instituted, and for the elder arrangement within the congregation.-WT 1993 1/1
Then there are modern claims that it is Christ through the angels doing the directing work of the WTS.
So my question is how can the Holy Spirit be directing when Rutherford says that he is no longer the guide?
...1918... in that year the Lord Jesus came to the temple of Jehovah God. The holy spirit that had been the guide of God's people, having performed its functions, was taken away... J.F. Rutherford, Salvation, 1939, pp. 216, 217.
Is the WTS being directed by the Holy Spirit or by the angels? Maybe both! What a joke.
I see this as a major discrepancy and problem.

What is God's point? I mean what is the point of all this. God's perfect plan is just that, a perfect plan and all is going according to that plan. We all worry and think too much. Somewhere in the NT it says that all of the events that came before were to show us our need for grace. If you look at it that way you can't help but give thanks to God. That he did all that and put all those people through all that just for us. He wants to share life with free willed people, like you and me. That's what it's all about.

Justitia Themis, If you think you need to wait until the "future" to know what the promise is, you won't receive it.
I know who I believe in and am fully convinced that He will keep His promise to me, the promise of eternal like. This is the message of the bible and the message of Paul. Read Romans, Galatians and Ephesians.
Salvation is handed out freely by God according to faith. The more you believe you are saved, the more you will act like you are saved. A saved person only wants to do God's will. This is the trick, this is how the magic takes place. It's all right there in the bible. Don't try to make it harder than it is.
But if you think that only after the fact, will we know, you will be disappointed. You need to know in your heart, now, today.

When did the WTS change their doctrine to Christ being the medaitor for only the 144,000 and the new covenant only applying to that 144,000?
Thanks a bunch.... -

When and why was the Holy Spirit reinstated?
by bob1999 inaccording to the teaching of j.f.rutherford the holy spirit was no longer needed once jesus christ 'came to the temple of jehovah god' in 1918. .
by his spirit, the holy spirit, jehovah god guides or leads his people up to a certain time, and thus he did until the time when "the comforter" was taken away ... in 1918. .
