It's not about doing good things, it's about faith.
A person does good things because he is saved, not to be saved.

if an atheist does something good...
by DannyBloem in.
if an atheist leads good life with high moral standards, because he choice to do so and thinks for logic it is a good thing, does it not mean much more then when a theist does the same, because his gods tells him to do it?

How Does the WT Explain this verse
by XBEHERE in(john 2:18-22) 18 therefore, in answer, the jews said to him: "what sign have you to show us, since you are doing these things?
" 19 in answer jesus said to them: "break down this temple, and in three days i will raise it up.
" 20 therefore the jews said: "this temple was built in forty-six years, and will you raise it up in three days?

"A person doesn't have to be a member of the "WTS" to notice that there is a certain emphasis when more than 20 verses say the same thing, and only one or two verses appear to contradict what they say."
There is a promise that Christ will, at some point, feed us in "full measure" from the tree of life. At that point we will become like THEM, God the Father and Christ Jesus. Knowing good and evil and living forever. What else is there? At that point we will be one with God and Christ. I don't think it's a stretch to think of God and Jesus as one. -

Read all of Romans 6. In verse 7, it is clear that Paul is talking about those that have been baptized. The word "dead" means 'dead to sin' because the person has been baptized. When we are baptized we die to sin.
Read it like this. 6We know that our old self was crusified with him so the the sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. 7For he who 'has been baptized' is freed from sin. -

Questions
by server ini greet everyone, .
there are some questions that i want to ask you all, and would really be very thankful if there comes out someone to respond it purely.
1- adultery [even looking lust for a woman (naturally for a woman to look lust for man)] is forbidden by lord, and jesus came to fulfil the law, and also in deuteronomy from 18th to 25th chapter, this sin and the punishment to it is being explained very briefly, now why many of those people who attribute themselves to the lord christ are completely in a adultery shaped life?

What's missing from this forum is ....
by Spectrum in... enough jws and non ex-jws to have a two sided debate that can give more depth than the current one sided debates that are typical of almost every thread apart from creation/evolution threads.
these manage to polarise us in informative albeit heated debates.
an argument should have a counter argument so that as much ground is covered as possible on both sides of the debate.

Isn't the counter argument published in the awake and watchtower all the time? -

Living in the Worst Times? NOT
by ICBehindtheCurtain ini just saw this article in us news, just thought i'de share it.
the wts and other religions love to push the idea that things are so bad now, that we are living in the worst times in history so we will only live for the "new system" bs, but the reality is that i wouldn't trade where we are now for any other time in history.
if we on this board would have lived in the inquisition we would have been burned at the stake after endless hours of torture only for disagreeing with the church and choosing to be a free thinker.

What is there to be scared about?
Come on, sing along with me "all my trials Lord.....will soon be over"
Dying is not a bad thing.....it's a good thing if you have faith.
Peace.... -

Are we going to Hell?
by catbert inlets discuss the origins of hell, and whether we are going there.
i don't want to...

bob1999
I'm not. Romans 8:1
But Revelations 20:15 "and if any one's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelations 20:10 ......and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Sounds like the lake of fire is hell. -

The WTS usually leaves themselves an out, but not all the time. The lord's witnesses have an out. It's only an 85% certainty?????!!!!

Sometime between sundown today and sundown Saturday the U.N. building in NYC will be attacked with a nuke.
It's a 85% certainty! I guess that means it a 15% certainty that it won't happen. It's all about a competition between the third true church (the WTS) and the fourth true church (the lord's witnesses).
What a bunch of bs.
