The word "died" in Rom 6:7 is refering to baptism. Verse 2, same word, same meaning. Verse 3, baptized, different word, twice, same meaning. Verse 4, buried and baptized, different words, same meaning. Verse 5, united, different word, same meaning. Verse 6, crucified, different word, same meaning. Verse 7, Those who have been baptized in Christ, Buried in Christ, United with Christ in death, Crucified with Christ are free from sin. A child can see this.

THE WAGES SIN PAYS
by Dansk inthe bible tells us that the wages sin pays is death.
therefore, when we die our debt is paid.. however, in the bible there are a number of cases where people got resurrected.
as their debt was paid, this means they couldn't die again.. ah, but some might say that these ones merely went on to live the average length of time and then died again.

Because of Adam's sin we all die physically. Because of our own sin we will all die the second death without Jesus Christ and the grace of God. The wages of sin is the second death. The only death that really matters.

Translation of the Greek word "proskuneo"
by bob1999 incan someone explain why the nwt translates this word as "worship" in 42 of the 60 occurances in the new testament while translating it "do obedience to" in the 18 instances where jesus is the recipient?
this seems so blatantly wrong.
do they think no one will notice or do they have an explanation?

My question was not one of doctrine. There can be no excuse to translate a word one way, when it suits one's doctrine, and another way when it does not. This is disingenuous, a lie plain and simple.

Miller, Barbour, Wendell, Russel, Rutherford, David Koresh. They all re-lived, over and over again, Miller's great disappointment. Sadly it continues today.

In [the] beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
by nicolaou in.
so where did god live before he'd created the heavens?.

"So where did God live before he'd created the heavens?" The question assumes that THIS phyical plain is the only one. That's a big assumption that limits God's abilities. I read "In the beginning" as "In OUR beginning". After all, there is no absolute "beginning" if God has lived forever.

Where does WT get their money for its operation?
by ukescott inas ex-mo, i know the mormon church makes millions of dollars each year by having its faithful members pay tithings and running quite a few businesses.
i am pretty sure wt as a corporate makes millions of dollars each year.
otherwise it wouldn't build thousands of kh's across the world i guess.

Help me out. I might be mis-informed. "Initially most of their revenue likely came from selling books. That proportion is decreasing now they have been forced onto a donation basis" I thought in the old day the "publishers" had to pay for the magazines up front and would get their money back when they "placed" them. But now the publishers are supposed to "donate" that same amount when they pick up the literature and turn in any donations received from the public with whom the literature is placed. So now the WTS is making money on both ends. Please correct me if I'm wrong....Thanks.

I have a copy of a letter from the UN stating when the WTS became an NGO and when that was terminated. I don't know how to post it here.

if an atheist does something good...
by DannyBloem in.
if an atheist leads good life with high moral standards, because he choice to do so and thinks for logic it is a good thing, does it not mean much more then when a theist does the same, because his gods tells him to do it?
what's your thoughs on this?

Doing good things is good but it does not save anybody. The only way to be saved by doing good things is to do only good things for a life time. Past, present and future. But all have sinned and fallen short of the glory..... So it takes the grace of God, obtainable only by faith, through the sacrifice of Christ.
