It's interesting that people only believe to be saved from hell.
I don't think they were true believers to start with.
Also interesting, how can a person (who believes that the bible is the word of God) not believe in hell?
I'm not going to argue who all might be going there but Rev. 20:10 says that the devil will be "thrown into the lake of fire.....and will be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
That sounds like there will be a hell, at least for the devil.

I don't know much about the "River of Living Waters".
But the River of the Water of Life flows from the thrown of God which will be on the new earth. Rev. 22:1

i was talking with the cong secretary the other day and he told me that all reports are rounded up before they are sent to the society.
i was just starting to think about how all this rounding up has an impact on the overall totals.. some publishers may round up or guesstimate their figures reporting additional time, congregation secretaries round up the cong report anything from 15 minutes to 45 minutes.
when you start extrapollating that across all the publishers and all congregations the margin of error becomes enormous.. the report becomes less meaningful each month by the end of the year we are potentially millions of hours adrift of the actual number.

realizing that if the "other sheep" are gentiles, i would therefore need to find some explanation for this scripture.
for me, i find a need to understand what this 144,000 concept means in connection with it all.. well, i spent some time yesterday reading scriptures and pondering it.

This is not a good book to base a religion on. Same goes for the book of Daniel.

have you ever noticed how the ones that don't celebrate the holidays or give gifts are very quick to accept them from employers, etc?
my mom for instance is already talking about what she will use her christmas bonuses for but frowns on the ones doing the giving.

in cyprus, everyone who earns a legitimate salary, pays 2% of their weekly/monthly salary to the republic of cyprus' defence fund.
this fund provides the mod (ministry of defence) the funds to purchase their arsenal and fund all and sundry in relation to the republic's armed forces.. shouldn't jehovah's witnesses put their foot down and say that they won't pay this tax?
i don't think it's physically possible to not pay this tax and as far as i know, that's the reason they give for paying it.. thing is, why do they always portray other religions of the world blessing the soldiers before going into battle?
Why do the JW's make such a big thing about war?
What about the war on drugs?
Law enforcement is war against law breakers, just within a countries boundries.
Are the JW's against that?
If the "bad guys" are causing trouble and physical harm, I like the idea of "going to war" against them.
Don't you? Killing someone in self defense is not murder and also not against God's will.
