  "They never said their lives AS ANOINTED ONES would overlap, just that the lives of anointed ones would overlap."

  The WTS taught, at one time, that babies born in the year 1914 would be included in "the generation".

  So a baby born in 1914 lives to be 100. Becomes a member of the "anointed" at some point in his life.

  Just before he dies he meets a newborn child.

  That newborn child lives to be 100 and somewhere along the way becomes part of the "anointed".

  Looks like the BIG A has, at least, until 2114.

  As far as I know the WTS teaches that those killed in Armageddon will not get a second chance.

  after briefing reading the original post on this thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/224030/1/do-i-have-this-right i asked myself the following question:.

  the watch tower bible & tract society publishes in its writings, as of late, that the governing body/faithful & discreet slave must be obeyed to gain jehovah's salvation and favor.

  the gb/fds are comprised of imperfect, spirit guided men whose teachings are to be accepted as truth.

  this seems to be the only scripture i hear that supposedly supports the whole "new light" thing??

  does the society use anything else to back themselves up here?

  cos this excuse is just looking waaaay to weak to me!.

  What gets me is when they use "new light" to explain coming to a conculsion that "Christendom" has held for centuries.

  Why does it take "new light"? Did "Christendom" get the "new light " first?

  Terry, one question.

  "Why would any disciple even THINK for one minute they would need a SIGN? Or, that much later at the END of the AGE Jesus would return?"

  What age were the disciples in at the time they ask the question?

  The answer is found at Hebrews 8:13 " By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear." "soon"

  The old covenant was still in place at the time the disciples ask the question.

  All through the NT we find talk about "the end". Surely they were not talking about something that hasn't happened yet, 2000 years later.

  The "End" (of the age of the old covenant) came in 70AD with the destruction of the temple.

  And anyone who mets someone born in 1914 is by association one the the generation of 1914.

  "Likewise today, most of the generation of 1914 has passed away. However, there are still millions on earth who were born in that year or prior to it." Watchtower Apr 8 1988 page 14

  So a baby born in 1914 lives to be 110 and meets a new born (or the new born meet this 110 year old) just before he dies and the baby lives to be 110.

  1914 + 110 +110 =2134

  Think about it.
